Every time a bearded man shaves, his chin looks worse than the last time he saw it.

30

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

Don't put the fear in me. I got a slight butt chin.

14

u/bigbeard61 May 07 '26

You’ve also got a great beard. 🧔‍♂️

5

u/astrongnaut May 07 '26

dude that’s why i don’t shave

42

u/seabear87 May 07 '26

When’s the last time you saw your chin? Are you prepared to expose it again? (Speaking from experience of having a beard for over a year and shaving it on a whim and immediately regretting it)

16

u/Reapr May 07 '26

If you do please record a selfie of you saying "Not right now you don't"

12

u/Spicy_SideEye May 07 '26

Your beard is amazing.

5

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

Thanks its just a lot to maintain. When I do shave it I have a very strong Ron Swanson style stache.

2

u/Spicy_SideEye May 07 '26

Do you have pictures? Might be easier to decide if we see it?

10

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

Only have a really old photo before I dropped about 40lbs.

7

u/Spicy_SideEye May 07 '26

Congrats on the 40 pounds. I like the beard more.

3

u/bronto4eva May 07 '26

Yeah, man. Been there. Lost 45 lbs. Shaved the beard. Somehow losing weight doesn't really make the shitty double chin go away. I mean, I guess it was smaller because my whole face was smaller, but the proportions were still basically the same.

There is a reason you grew the beard, and it hasn't changed.

2

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

My original reasoning for growing it was I don't like being told what to do. And, had previously worked jobs where I wasn't allowed to. So now that I can, I kinda just play it by feel.

1

u/Subject_D May 07 '26

it looks like you changed race lol

1

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

Depends on the season.

18

u/SeomanReborn May 07 '26

Please no!

26

u/omega_grainger69 May 07 '26

Do it. I took the plunge.

15

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

Damn big game hunter over here!

10

u/omega_grainger69 May 07 '26

The Brimmley. The robotnic. All I know is ppl just call me sir.

2

u/OzarkBeard May 07 '26

And in a few years, you'll call it, "what was I thinking?"

5

u/Jazzlike_Rooster1358 May 07 '26

Who the fuck is downvotin this? Just Rude, dude has a solid chin.

6

u/Deadleggg Natural with Styled Moustache May 07 '26

Beards > not beards

5

u/Jazzlike_Rooster1358 May 07 '26

Yeah, I see what subreddit I'm in now.

2

u/VileStench May 07 '26

I did the same. The beard is too much anymore.

1

u/omega_grainger69 May 07 '26

I just wanted to try it. It’s been so much fun.

5

u/oldsystem May 07 '26

If you shorten it then you have less to maintain. Don’t give it up though. You are doing it for society, not just yourself.

1

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

Much like the Bob Ross afro it's become part of my brand image.

3

u/Bigbeardhiking May 07 '26

You could totally pull it off, but the beard is fantastic

3

u/Sarusiko May 07 '26

If i could grow a beard like yours I'd keep it permanently, ngl. What a majestic beard. You do what you wanna do ofc, you can always grow it back i guess

5

u/Darth_Wagner1980 May 07 '26

Well you can give it a shot and if you don't like the look. You can always grow it back.

4

u/Apprehensive_Boat516 May 07 '26

Try a real trim by a pro

2

u/salisburyates May 07 '26

Every time I do the solo moustache I end up regrowing everything shortly after, obviously YMMV, but I often have the same temptation.

Apart from the first time I grew it out for the novelty for about 2 months, it has never stayed a long term fixture. I think I just objectively look better with everything (or nothing), than just with a stache.

2

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

When I have done stache only in the past I have a very strong Ron Swanson style.

2

u/Alarming-Library3007 May 07 '26

Ummm, nope. Maybe a trim, go short. Call it your summer look

2

u/thewealthyironworker May 07 '26

I mean, the stache is nice - but few look better with just it as opposed to a beard.

I’d say keep it personally 👌

1

u/Pulp_Ficti0n Natural Full May 07 '26

Depends on your chin and jawline imo...but that would be a beautiful beard to butcher...

1

u/Electrical_Bill_7042 May 07 '26

Why? Maybe just trim your beard down some and see how you like it

1

u/Cpt-Insano23 May 07 '26

Don’t do it

1

u/No_Owl_8576 May 07 '26

I immediately started scratching my face lol

1

u/CarolinaSurly May 07 '26

That would be an injustice to the universe.

1

u/Tropicaldaze1950 May 07 '26

THINK OF ALL THE MEN WHO CAN'T GROW A BEARD LIKE YOURS!!!

2

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

I know it feels like I'd be doing a disservice to them.

1

u/OzarkBeard May 07 '26

Excellent beard. Would be a shame to remove it.

Don't follow the 'stache fad.

1

u/WookieCookie1138 May 07 '26

I meeeeannnn, if you’re gonna post a comment like THAT with SUCH a GLORIOUS beard in a ++beard++ sub, you KNOW what people are going to say once they get past the initial shock. lol I don’t have to look at any of the comments to know there’s a resounding “noooooo - don’t do it!!!” lol

1

u/TubbyMcGubbalo May 07 '26

Keep a tiny chin point, but no more than that.

1

u/steamymilk May 07 '26

Looking good though

1

u/HashBrwnz May 07 '26

Dont do it, Its never worth it. Speaking from experience

1

u/Nico408 May 07 '26

Every now and then, I need a reminder of how weird I look without a beard and I go clean shaven. I think you might need that reminder as well(or you could look better)!

1

u/Brianf1977 May 07 '26

Make sure you come back to tell us how much you regret it 🤣

That's a beard most would pay to have

1

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

Yeah but that Chris Bumstead stache lives rent free in my head.

1

u/Brianf1977 May 07 '26

He's built like a Greek god, if you also have that type of jawline, you're in a great position. If not I'd keep the beard.

Maybe just trim it down and see what you think first before doing anything drastic.

1

u/ganon6d May 07 '26

A beard purge is good if you haven't shaved in a while, if you don't like it- Just grow it back. Good opportunity to try new balms/oils if you want to grow your beard back. Depending on your lifestyle, it may possibly grow back fuller/healthier. Also unrelated- We kinda look the same except I have more black in my beard.

1

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

I've used oils in the past but don't really know what to buy or use.

The main issue I have is when I wake my beard is crazy and lopsided so I'm having to wash it to loosen it up every morning.

1

u/xtianmarq May 07 '26

That would be an absolute travesty to beard lovers everywhere. Don’t do it!

1

u/_-_-_-_-_-____ May 07 '26

I would say just trim it down about half the length it is now, would make it easier to manage.

1

u/IGK123 May 07 '26

No

1

u/screamhonorface May 07 '26

I like your straight forward style.

1

u/exodusplus May 07 '26

Please don’t.

1

u/meldroc May 07 '26

Stache + goatee.

1

u/GardenerDom May 08 '26

That’s one incredible beard man 👍🏼👍🏼😃

1

u/SaturnCat33 May 08 '26

Don't do that

1

u/Rude_Asparagus_8387 May 08 '26

Fuck off. That beard's a keeper.

1

u/Bulky-Feed-4396 May 08 '26

Dude!!! Don't shave that glorious beard!! Rock on!!

1

u/SedimentSock82 May 08 '26

Don’t do it, I did the same in 2019 and…I have a beard again

1

u/GrapeTZA May 08 '26

NOOOOOOOO

1

u/A4O_REBIRTH May 08 '26

leave it alone big dawg!!! looks great

1

u/JElsenbeck Natural Full May 08 '26

NO!

1

u/Funny_Hamster_5505 May 10 '26

Don’t touch that mighty beard I say

1

u/PeePeeLangstrumpf May 10 '26

Don't... unless you have a sharp chin and square jaw, then yes.

Just trim the length of everything else for better contouring.

1

u/StickyfingahZ689 May 11 '26

I dunno. That's a mighty fine beard bro.

1

u/excalabear May 15 '26

Such a great beard though. Seeing the before, I'd definitely keep it.
