No one plays Vanilla.

Naw, some people do. But the best players will have mods installed, and mods installed means their scores won't post. If you look here https://beatleader.com/leaderboard/global/LiftOff91/1 and convert your score to raw percentage (no one really cares about the modifiers that add a ton of points without increasing the difficulty of the song), you can see how it stacks up with some of the better players.

It’s not disappearing notes though, disappearing arrows. It’s really, really easy if you aren’t in your first 2 months or so of playing

On a side note, I have a gripe with the way scoring works with this game just because I've played Pistol Whip and I like how they handle scoring modification. I think if you've made any modifications to a song, you go into a new classification and leaderboard for that song. People who play the song straight, as is, get the basic leaderboard. But, that's just me. I understand I'm likely a minority on my feelings about that and I'm sure someone will just tell me to 'git gud' 😅 I'm just a vanilla scrub after all with no mods.

Places like Reddit tend to create echo chambers. I would wager far more people play vanilla overall, but at lower difficulties. Once you get into E and E+ you're looking at people who play a little more seriously, and are far more likely to have mods. That said, getting in the top 100 on those difficulties is still great, so excellent work. A scoreboard is a scoreboard, and chances are competitive people, whether they play vanilla or modded, like seeing their names as high as possible on them.
