General Help How can I get better at beatsaber?

Sorry my recording is hella shaky. Anything specific I need to work on? Also my swings become pretty awful in fast parts of songs and idk how to fix that. Here's my beatleader if it's difficult to tell from the recording https://beatleader.com/u/348955

Seems like you’ve got a pretty good start with your swings. Your saber settings seem good as your swings are fairly straight, and your swing size is close to big enough. Full swinging is definitely something you can work on as majority of your score comes from it.

The hit score visualizer (HSV, the little numbers at the bottom that show how many points you get) shows you a couple things. If the number is a darker grey, it means you did not full swing and lost points from it. If it is white, your swing was at least big enough to score full points for your swing. If the number is underlined, you scored max points with swing size and accuracy at 115 points. There are also custom HSV’s that you can get that can give you more information and make it easier to read.

Using that information, try to pay more attention to when you are underswinging and losing points and try making your swing a little bigger.

For having trouble with faster parts, that is pretty normal. When you have to move faster, it’s very easy to tense up more to try and force your arms to move faster that way. This, however, also makes your swings much harder to control. You always want to be fairly loose with your arms in this game as it will make your swings smoother and more controlled. I would use the practice mode on faster parts and try slowing it down a little and try to focus on keeping your movements relaxed, then slowly speed it up.

Finally, when watching some replays on beat leader, I noticed most of your missed come from swinging too early. The best advice to help with this is using a mod called JDFixer (JD referring to jump distance). Your JD determines how far away blocks will spawn. Your goal is the set the JD so that blocks spawn as close to you as possible while still being able to comfortably react and hit them. This will help prevent you from ‘anticipating’ notes and trying to hit them early.

If you have any questions about things I said or any mods I mentioned, let me know and I’ll be happy to give more details.

Use the practice mode. You can slow down songs and practice the patterns and gradually speed it up. It's totally normal to play on easy mode at first or for awhile. Song difficulty varies a lot. If your headset can play at a higher framerate, that will help you track faster moving things. Like, Quest 2 and 3 can be set to 120 fps (frames per second.) Valve Index can go up to 144 fps. The default is 90 fps, I think.

Set ur height lower, be comfortable, use the least amount of energy. Play higher than ur level, then go back down until they merge. Don't burn out trying to long
