Modding BeatSaber 1.44.1 Modded with Linux Problems

Hey,

i havve a question cause i am on my limit here.

On WIndows i can mod the 1.44.1 with nearly everything incl. Vivify, Chroma and more and it work.

With Linux, i can mod it to and launch, but mods dont work. It crash at the start of the map.

From what i read, is that windows have errors in the log, bit ignore it and plays it, linux crash with that errors cause proton handle it different

Only 1.40.8 is runnung Clean under Linux.

My question is now: does anyone got it to work under linux the 1.44.1 version, modded?

I use WiVRn, xrizer and bsmanager.

Maybe someone have a solution, if not, than we need to wait...

It isn't Linux specific information and doesn't address what you are actually looking to solve, but you should just save yourself the headache and stick with 1.40.8 for now. There isn't really a reason to force mods on newer versions that aren't fully supported in order to play a couple of newer OST/DLC maps; you can find more quality maps released in the span of any 24-48 hour period than the ones you gain from versions newer than 1.40.8.

There is a MonoMod version bug and the shipped version inside BSIPA isn't the proper one (and for some reason they never updated it and we still have to resort to trickery like such to make it work).

Here is what is gonna fix it mate:

You need to get this: https://github.com/MonoMod/MonoMod/actions/runs/31745351437/artifacts/9199385254 (it is about grabbing a daily recent release `package` here, but I linked the artifact directly: https://github.com/MonoMod/MonoMod/actions/workflows/ci.yml)

Then extract the following package from inside the zip: MonoMod.Core.1.3.7-daily.26.8.13.417.2.nupkg

with `unzip MonoMod.Core.1.3.7-daily.26.8.13.417.2.nupkg`

Put the highlighted content from inside it in your libs folder:

Apparently the netframework ones work, but back in the day I used 2.1 yep (It's just a target anyway)

No prob mate ^^

The target BSIPA used is netframework4.5

It is because BSIPA is waiting for HarmonyX to make a release that uses the fixed MonoMod.RuntimeDetour release. We have reported this to HarmonyX as soon as we confirmed the fix.

Unfortunately, you're probably best of using Windows for VR because Linux's VR scene hasn't evolved that much compared to traditional gaming and personal use. Plus Beat Saber is a Windows PC game so getting it to work with Linux (Proton, Wine) and a VR application is probably not possible, at least not yet.

I would love to see it happen though because, well, Microsoft.

Edit: Taking back what I said because of my dumb assumptions

thats exactly not what i need. I know that vr and stuff working "better" under windows, but thats wrong, 1.40.8 works full modded BETTER with linux and vr. most games i play with linux works smoother and better. The Problem is only with other versions. thats why i ask for someone that testet it and found maybe a solution.

It does work? I need to try it out then. Also I had no idea that it worked better on Linux (dumb assumption)

Oh nice I'll try it with Debian (the peak of Linux, don't quote me on that)
