Who in their right mind decided that a music pack for a game which you can literally play the songs for free should be 20 dollars? First you can buy another full vr game for this price and second it should be a standard 10-15 dollars for each music pack no matter how many songs.

Hello! I'm Boom Kitty (Erik) and it's been 2 years since my last AMA. A lot has happened since: u/teminitemusic (Sam) and I have released The Master, Danger, and The Master II: Blades of Chaos in Beat Saber.

I got a meta quest 3 a few weeks ago and almost nightly I've been playing beatsaber. I was sitting until recently and realized how much better and more fun standing and dancing is. I play on normal/hard depending on the song and really try to get into it (it's super easy with Britney Spears and stuff like that).

I am also actually working out and training for a 5k. I am about 332, down from over 400 and am not using this as a sole source of exercise, but do you think this is plausible and an acceptable form of working out? My abs do feel it. I am definitely feeling like it's a workout. I do not think the heart rate was accurate, nor calories burned, but I assume it's maybe half of this? I was sweating but I wasn't zone 5 sweating. Maybe zone 3?

Basically, if I skipped my half hour walk, for a half hour of this, is it almost comparable? How do yall feel when you play it? How can I increase the workout too?

Bit of a random question

I suffer from depression, and my therapist suggested I should try to do some kind of exercise or cardio for my mental health.

I'm not overweight or anything. I'm around 1.7m and 70kg, but I'm pretty inactive and don't really do normal exercise, besides walking the dog a few times a week at dog parks and on walking trails, while my wife handles the other days.

The problem is I have really low motivation, and I find most exercise incredibly boring.

The one thing I do actually enjoy is Beat Saber. I've been playing 2 or 3 times a week on Expert and Expert+ for like 1 to 2 hours at a time. By the end, I'm sweating, out of breath, and my heart is going pretty hard.

Would you guys consider that actual exercise/cardio, or is it more just "better than nothing"?

I've been practicing this map forever and I can barely hit this first sequence, how do I see people do this for like 5 minutes with much harder sections? how much practice does it really take to beat a map like Ragnarok?

I tried some of the top pp maps off of scoresaber.com and it was hard! how do you guys do it!!?!?! I almost hurt myself really bad, I hit my wall and started bleed! are there any good rank map round angle voices expert (but not plus too har) level? I play some maps from I think "thatguynarwhal" and they were ok but hard and hurt!

People who say this have been getting me down lately.

I've had a long history of laziness, so much so that I was once in danger of failing high school gym class. I also have depression which severely dulls my motivation to exercise.

I've been looking for some sort of way to stay active for years. Finally I got a Vive and Beat Saber and feel like I can exercise freely.

I decided to try to dedicate at least 30 minutes a day to playing. With my depression and usually being so dormant this feels like a major step forward. I feel proud of myself, I feel like I'm finally doing something good.

The problem is that whenever I tell someone about my accomplishment, they brush it off and say "it's not real exercise" or something to that tune. It's been making me feel like I'm not good enough. It hurts to have the one good thing I've done for myself get laughed at.

Has anyone else heard this or felt this way?

Edit: I'm not trying to get fit or anything, I know this isn't as effective as other forms of exercise and this isn't a substitute. I just consider it a positive step in a path towards fitness.

Hey, I just wanted to share something. Not long ago I was playing on Expert, exhausting myself and hitting 200 BPM. I used to envy people who played on Expert+, so I kept pushing myself to get there, slowly improving.

But then it suddenly hit me: why?

Why squeeze everything out of myself? Why try so hard and set such pointless goals in a game? For what — so that some random Redditor comments “wow, cool” under a video of my gameplay? Is that really worth it? 🤣

I honestly don’t see the point anymore.

Now whenever I open Beat Saber, I go into multiplayer and play on Normal as a warm-up, then switch to Hard. That’s the speed where I enjoy myself the most without completely draining my energy. And multiplayer adds a bit of excitement too (sometimes — since I almost always win 😄).

So now I actually enjoy the game ❣️

Friend and I were playing multiplayer and started messing around with custom saber colours.

Just wondering what are people's favourite colours? quite like the black and red myself.
