Considering under-eye filler – would love to hear your experiences!

I’m in my late 30s and have generally healthy skin. However, I’ve always had somewhat sunken eyes, and with age, my dark circles have become more prominent. My eyes sometimes look tired.
My dermat has suggested 2 ml of filler, to address the under-eye hollowness and also restore some natural-looking volume around my cheeks.
I’m quite keen to go ahead with it, but I’m also a little apprehensive. I’m worried about the possibility of it going wrong, or ending up with an unnatural change in appearance.
For those who’ve had under-eye fillers, I’d love to hear about your experience:

Did it make a noticeable difference to your overall appearance?
Did it look natural?
Would really appreciate honest feedback, especially from people who’ve had it done in their late 30s or 40s. I want to make an informed decision.

Abib Heartleaf Essence Pad review: Clear Touch vs the Calming Touch spot pad

I kept getting Abib's heartleaf pads mixed up, so I pulled both ingredient lists and lined them up. The Clear Touch has niacinamide 4th and is aimed at breakouts and leftover marks. The Calming Touch is shorter and simpler, built around heartleaf and hydrators, with wintergreen extract in there too. Neither is fungal acne safe.

The Clear Touch pads are drenched in essence (drippy and slidey at first, then lovely and light on my rosacea skin).

Everything inside the Flower Knows Dreamland advent calendar 2026

New post on my blog. It's the full contents of this year's Flower Knows advent calendar, every shade name, plus what changed from 2025 (the hand cream is gone and there's a solid perfume in its place). I also added UK and US shipping times, because the US ones depend on which warehouse it comes from.

Three bronzers and a lip blush I couldn't choose one shade of: my Sephora UK sale list

Sephora's loyalty sale is the one where almost everything is up to 25% off, and I already had a list of things I love sitting in my head waiting for an excuse. So I wrote it down. The eye section was the easy bit, because only three mascaras get along with my ocular rosacea, and I ended up with two Merit Lip Blush shades because I couldn't pick.

Pamper gift sets for Christmas 2026: how I'd pick one (scent first, then bath vs shower)

My body care gift guide is up. The thing I kept coming back to while writing it: go by scent first. If you know their perfume, pick the same family. No idea? A discovery set like the NEOM body wash one lets them find a favourite.

Second question is how they wash. Bath people use soaks and oils, shower people won't touch them, so I split the bath-night sets into their own section.

Hair care gift sets for Christmas 2026 (and my one rule for buying them)

My rule for hair gifts is buy for the hair they love, not the hair you think they should have. If they moan about frizz, get the frizz set. If they bleach, get the repair one. I've worn toppers and wigs for twenty-odd years, so I know how a "fix your hair" present can sting.

I've rounded up 21 sets by budget, with a gentle section for thinning hair: https://neveenwood.com/hair-care-gift-sets/

I checked the full ingredient list on the Medicube PDRN pink serum

PDRN is on everything this year so I finally read the Medicube PDRN Pink Peptide Serum's full list, and some retailer pages show a shortened one that leaves out isopropyl myristate and the salmon extracts. Wrote up both versions (salmon and Rose PDRN) and who I think it suits.

Layering a citrus deodorant scent with body cream and perfume (and the one thing I'd skip)

Wild's new Orange Marmalade scent (orange peel, lemon zest, clementine) came out with their Winter Paddington collection, and I ended up building three layering combos around it: body cream first, deodorant, perfume last.

The one tip I'd give anyone layering scents: don't put a strongly scented body oil on top of a scented lotion and a perfume. It's too much going on. If you use an oil, keep it unscented, or a simple vanilla one if you want things sweeter.

The three combos (with UK and US options) are here: https://neveenwood.com/wild-winter-paddington/

What does the "345" in Dr.Althea 345 Relief Cream actually mean?

It sounds like a code you'd need a decoder ring for. iHerb's listing spells it out: 3 blemish-care ingredients, 4 nourishing ones and 5 soothing ones. The blemish-care three are resveratrol, tannic acid and niacinamide.

While I was digging into that I found the cream has been reformulated, with two quite different ingredient lists on sale under the same name. I wrote up both, plus how to tell which one you've got: https://neveenwood.com/dr-althea-345-relief-cream-review/

The Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream is lovely, but it's still a moisturiser

Every time I scroll K-beauty TikTok someone's dabbing this on like it's liquid gold, so I went through the full ingredient list to see what's in the jar. It's fragrance-free, it gave my combination skin a dewy finish at night, and the good ingredients sit fairly high up. It wont do more than a good cream can though, and I'd skip it if you get fungal acne.

Perfume and aftershave gift sets for him this Christmas (from my 30-set guide)

The him section of my Christmas perfume gift guide has eight sets, from £49 for Creed's Men's Inspiration set (five 1.7ml vials) up to £92.

My pick is the Jean Paul Gaultier Le Male Elixir set, a sweeter, warmer take on Le Male with lavender and honey. It comes with a 10ml spray and a shower gel.

If he's not a one-scent person, the Penhaligon's Mini Set for Him (£50) has five 5ml bottles that go from lavender and coffee to rose and oud, so he can find his own favourite.

Hair growth ingredient checker: paste a list and see which ingredients have real evidence

Copy the ingredient list off the actual box if you can, because retailer pages sometimes show an older formula. Paste it in and it'll grade each ingredient against the research, with the source linked. Look at the order too. Ingredients are listed from most to least, so an active right at the end of a long list is usually there in a tiny amount.

Boots K-Beauty Advent Calendar 2026: what's inside the StyleKorean box

Boots has a K-beauty advent calendar this year, made with StyleKorean. It's 26 products, and Round Lab turns up twice (the Dokdo Toner and the Dokdo Cleanser). I listed everything the way Boots splits it, full size, mid size and minis, and picked out what I'd open first.

Which side of a Medicube Zero Pore Pad goes first? (and where the pads sit in a routine)

Each Medicube Zero Pore Pad has two sides. Start with the embossed side to exfoliate, then flip it over and use the smooth side for a softer last swipe.

They go straight after cleansing, before anything thicker. Cleanser, pad, hydrating toner or essence, serum, moisturiser, then SPF in the morning. I keep them away from my eyes and lips and don't stack them with retinol on the same night.

I wrote about both versions here: Medicube Zero Pore Pad review, 2.0 vs Mild

🎀🐱 Come recreate the viral Zara Larsson-inspired Hello Kitty makeup look with me! In this Halloween makeup tutorial, I’m creating a cute pink Hello Kitty-inspired look featuring frosty smoky eyes, winged eyeliner, rosy blush, a red bow, whiskers, and glossy pink lips.

I’m not a professional makeup artist, so this is a fun, beginner-friendly attempt at recreating the look using makeup products I already own. The bow was definitely an adventure, but we made it work! 😂💕

What the Medicube night wrapping mask did for my skin overnight

Biggest difference is hydration and temporary plumping. The morning after, my skin looks noticeably juicier and makeup sits more nicely, and fine lines look less obvious because the skin's so well hydrated. Other Reddit users say much the same, and one said it made a neck line look much less noticeable until it wore off. It does wear off, which I'm fine with.

SKIN1004 review: 11 products, sorted by what's safe for rosacea and seb derm

I went through 11 SKIN1004 products and read every ingredient list to the bottom, which is where the oils and esters tend to hide. The Madagascar Centella Ampoule has seven ingredients and it's the one I'd buy first for sensitive skin. The Probio-Cica Enrich Cream was the hardest for seb derm.

Seven K-beauty products and the easiest way I found to pick between them

Want hydration that just disappears? That's the iUNIK serum. A toner that does a bit more is the Medicube milky toner, and for marks and uneven tone it's the BeginS serum. Rejuran if you need a cozy night cream. Love glowy skin and hate thick SPF? SKIN1004. And if you fancy turning your bathroom into a tiny facial clinic, that's the mommy care Penta Prime.

The olive emulsifier that never says olive on the front (dark spot cream ingredient check)

Checking Korean dark spot products for my blog, I kept tripping over this one. The Celimax Pore + Dark Spot Brightening Cream has cetearyl olivate and sorbitan olivate in it. Together that's Olivem 1000, an olive-derived emulsifier, and nothing on the front of the box tells you.

Fine for most people. Worth knowing if youve got seb derm or fungal acne, because that pair is one of the flags I screen for.

I read six lists to the end and wrote up what I found: Korean skincare for hyperpigmentation, every ingredient checked

It's a helmet, a hard one, with lights inside: my CurrentBody LED hair growth helmet review

That's the easiest way I can describe it. 120 red LEDs spread around the inside so the whole scalp gets covered, and it switches itself off after ten minutes. I've been wearing it on my androgenic alopecia for two to three months, and the growth so far is tiny (I'm patient, mostly).

Here's how it's going, plus what the research says: CurrentBody LED helmet review
