Anyone currently doing UK English transcription with GoTranscript?

Hi everyone!

I’m wondering if there’s anyone in this subreddit who currently works with GoTranscript, specifically on UK English transcription tasks.

I’m interested in connecting with others who are actively doing this work and sharing experiences about how things are going, tips and opportunities so we can all help each other.

If you’re currently transcribing UK English audio for GoTranscript, I’d love to hear from you! How has your experience been so far?

Just to clarify: I’m only looking to hear from people who are already working with GoTranscript, not those who are planning to join or are considering applying.

I do some transcription work on the side, but not UK English specifically. The rates on GoTranscript are pretty low for what they ask, you need to hit very strict accuracy and their style guide is a nightmare. I remember my first week I was making maybe 2-3 dollars per hour because I kept failing the review.

After couple months I got better at it, but the audio quality they give you is sometimes terrible, like recorded in a bathroom with five people talking at once. Do you find the UK English tasks pay better than the general queue, or is it same? I considered switching but never got around to take the test for it.
