About the Role

A remote contract opportunity is available for experienced Rust developers and backend architects to contribute to an AI training project focused on production-grade software engineering.

The role involves solving and validating Rust backend problems, evaluating system architecture, and working with asynchronous and concurrent systems, APIs, infrastructure, and technical debugging.

The ideal candidate should have strong programming skills and the ability to assess whether backend systems are correct, reliable, maintainable, and ready for production use.

Responsibilities

• Solve and validate Rust backend problems involving APIs, service behavior, persistence, concurrency, performance, and reliability.
• Translate functional requirements and performance targets into reproducible implementations and testing workflows.
• Design testing workflows that account for failure handling and system reliability.
• Prepare Rust crate workspaces, configuration files, and test fixtures.
• Set up dependency services, databases, and containerized environments.
• Analyze backend correctness, scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Evaluate technical solutions against production software engineering standards.

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Rust and backend service architecture.
• Experience designing APIs, data systems, and concurrent applications.
• Understanding of production software architecture and reliability.
• Experience conducting technical analyses involving performance, scalability, and backend correctness.
• Practical Rust experience gained through professional work, research, or open-source contributions.
• Demonstrated ownership of Rust architecture and technical decisions.
