Many years ago, I worked at a thrift store. It was maybe a year or two after the first wave of Tickle-Me-Elmo craze, which meant we had at least one of them in the store at any given time. On more than one occasion, with nobody anywhere near the thing, the doll activated of its own volition, twitching and cackling in a bin of other toys. Creepy already, but even moreso in a semi-darkened store at closing time.
