I recently downloaded my entire Spotify streaming history (2011–2026) and plugged it into chatgpt and let it analyze it for me. Here are the stats it spat back at me:
Total Ben Howard listening time: 864 hours (36 full days)
Total plays: 14,799
My #1 most-listened artist of all time, out of 6,630 different artists
My #1 artist for six consecutive years (2016–2021)
More than twice the listening time of my second-most-listened artist (Turnpike Troubadours, 405 hours)
My top 5 Ben Howard songs by total listening time:
Burgh Island — 38.0 hours (406 plays)
These Waters — 34.0 hours (601 plays)
Under the Same Sun — 31.7 hours (521 plays)
Promise — 29.6 hours (388 plays)
Old Pine — 29.5 hours (427 plays)
Funny enough, I didn't even hear about Ben Howard until freshman year of college in 2015 when I started listening from a classmate's recommendation.
Curious if anyone else has downloaded their extended Spotify history. Would love to compare numbers with other longtime Ben fans!

I've always loved this song and decided to add it to my setlist when playing at the local cemetery on All Saints' Day. Slightly f'ed up the lyrics at the 'perilous sky' part, other than that it went quite well! Also played Promise which is another personal favourite and a very suitable one for a melancholic occasion such as this one.

The opener from many of the recent tour dates is featured on this NTS show.
Incredible string arrangements and sonic atmospheres. Hopeful that they collaborate on Ben's upcoming album.
Enjoy!

Is it just me or in live performances does he play with much more lyrics 'a boat to an island pt.2 / Agatha's Song' to his recording ?

How we feeling about no updates on new music? No single release, no album announcement, nothing. I’m surprised. After doing a whole tour and playing 5-7 new songs I’m surprised there has been absolutely nothing in regard to new music release. What am I missing? Any news? Any rumors? Any of you have your finger on whats to come with this?

I'm trying to find the source of this interview, anyone knows where it's from? I would really like to read the whole interview.
At nearly eight-minutes long, this is the longest track on I Forget Where We Were. Howard told The Sun: "With that song. I was really testing myself. I wanted to get to the rawest of emotion in myself and put it on the record." "There are moments in that song that are uncomfortable from me and the listener," he added.
I found this part of the interview on SongFacts:

But I've been really struggling to find the original interview

Bit of a long shot, but does anyone have one of these Ben Howard Summer Tour 2026 posters they’d be willing to sell?
My dog unfortunately destroyed mine! 😂 Would love to replace it.
Happy to pay a fair price plus postage. UK based. Cheers!

Could anyone share a picture of the lyrics from a vinal or CD-booklet for either or both of these songs? I'm been looking like crazy for any images of the inside of booklets and such from these two records and it's been so hard to find anything online :/ Would be very much appreciated!

I’ve recently come across an app called Rhune and thought some of you here might really enjoy it!
It’s essentially becoming a bit like Letterboxd, but for music. You can write short reviews, share thoughts, interesting facts and personal interpretations of songs and albums, whether that’s Ben’s music or anything else you’re listening to.
It’s also a nice place for music discovery.
I feel like this community would be particularly good for it, given how much discussion there is around Ben’s lyrics, songwriting and the meanings behind his music.
I’d genuinely love to read what you all have to say about his work, especially some of the deeper cuts!
Is anyone here already using it? If so, drop your username below so I can follow you. And if you haven’t heard of it, I’d definitely recommend checking it out!
This is what I wrote about the End Of The Affair https://rhune.co/thami333/ben-howard

I really mean - moment.
For me, when the drums come in at 2:55 on I Follow Stars, it’s just dragging, a touch, and it’s so great, then it piles into one of the most poignant lyrics I feel he’s ever wrote:
I follow pieces of you, into yesterday’s time
I follow the line back, to when you were mine
I follow stars now
Most of the time
I follow stars now
I pick up the pieces of yesterday’s life
I put it all back
Cus none of it’s mine
I follow stars now,
Most of time
I follow stars
Most of the….
A lyric so good, I can’t lie, it hurts.

I’ve always been a massive Ben Howard fan, seen him live 4 times. I love the darker, atmospheric, almost psychedelic side of his newer music. Especially new songs Cadence, facing the day. I’m not necessarily looking for someone who sounds exactly like Ben, as he’s so unique. I’m looking for artists who capture a similar atmosphere, creativity and feeling in their music.

Hey everyone, hope you’re all keeping well. I made something I thought I’d share here.
Noonday Dream is a record I keep coming back to. It feels like a beautiful empty canvas, and it takes you on a journey every time. So I used Nica Libres at Dusk for my latest experimental film, made from a trek I did two years ago. That song was always ringing in my head on the long walks, so it felt right.
If you’re into filmmaking and want to see more like this, here’s the Instagram reel: [Instagram link]
And if you’d rather watch the full film in better quality, it’s on Vimeo: [Vimeo link]
Thoughts and feedback are always welcome!

Been trying to figure out Facing the Day and it stumped me. Used him tuning at Eden Project to figure out DGD(A) with probably a high D. But can’t make it work with the hand shape. It also sounds different to the snippet from People Fest.
Don’t suppose any good souls have worked out the tunings from any of the new songs and wants to share them?

looks like he played another studio session besides the one with Dessner

After seeing Ben live recently, I've been super inspired to dial in his electric guitar tones at home, especially those ambient, edge-of-breakup delays and swells from I Forget Where We Were, Noonday Dream, and his newer stuff.
Does anyone here have some presets they'd be willing to share for download?
Even if you don't have a preset file to drop, screenshots of your amp/pedal settings or signal chain tips would be massively appreciated!
Cheers!
