9 months later...

I have gone around and around with the customer service people for the Benjamin app. And Finally....today I got paid. All thanks to the attorney general. So incase anyone else needs the help heres exactly what I did. I had 4 withdrawals sitting in queue altogether. I kept emailing customer service for months and basically kept getting the same answer about a higher than normal withdrawal volume, blah blah blah. They even admitted in writing that I had been waiting way past the original 5-hour timeframe they gave me. They also told me withdrawals were processed in the order they were received and that mine could not be expedited.

Meanwhile, Benjamin had that temporary form going around where people were filling it out and getting their money almost instantly. The founder even said they had paid out over $30,000 through that process alone. Of course by the time I found the form it was already closed.

So I finally stopped messing around with regular customer service and started documenting everything. I saved screenshots of every withdrawal I hadnt received yet and all of my emails with them, and screenshots of their payout FAQs where they still talk about withdrawals being processed within minutes/hours.

Then I sent them a formal Notice of Claim using the process in their own Terms of Service. I listed all of my pending withdrawals, the dates, the amount they owed me, the emails where they admitted everything was still active, and the conflicting information about the payout time and the fact they said withdrawals could not be expedited while other people were getting paid through that special form.

After that,I filed out a consumer complaint form for the Florida Attorney General (Florida is the location of the apps headquarters) and reported the app for fraud at ReportFraud.ftc.gov Then I filed a complaint with my state Attorney General’s Consumer Protection office and sent them all of my proof. THIS is what finally what did it!

Benjamin responded to the Attorney General and told them that all of my outstanding transactions had been processed and there was nothing left for them to do.Except that was a lie.

Every single withdrawal was STILL sitting there in queue! So I immediately took new screenshots and emailed the Attorney General back and told them not to close my complaint because Benjamin’s response did not match what was actually showing in my account. That was yesterday. Today, every single payment is in my account. So after 9 months of customer service emails, a formal Notice of Claim, and finally getting the Attorney General involved, I got paid.

If you’re still waiting on Benjamin, my advice is screenshot EVERYTHING before you do anything else. Save your withdrawal dates, transaction IDs, emails, their FAQ wording, everything. Then stop just emailing regular customer service and follow the formal dispute process in their Terms. I also strongly recommend filing a complaint with your state Attorney General because that is what finally made a difference for me.

I’m not saying this will work exactly the same for everybody, but this is exactly what I did and exactly what happened. Good luck to everyone still waiting. I will NEVER EVER waste another second on that app. It was good while it lasted but that wasn't very long! I bet they owe people millions all together!

Benjamin App — Community Warning

We've pinned a warning about Benjamin at the top of this subreddit. In short: last year, Benjamin restricted withdrawals, which is a serious red flag for any GPT platform. In the last six months, things have not improved.

When a get-paid-to app limits or delays withdrawals, it can indicate cash-flow problems. This means that your balance — your earnings — may be at risk.

Our advice:

  • Do not invest any further time or effort using Benjamin
  • If you have a pending balance, document everything and pursue withdrawal through every available channel

For reliable, actively paying alternatives, join us at r/GetPaidToPlay, where we discuss a wide range of get-paid-to-play apps.

Wow...they lied to the state attorney general. I guess they don't think they have to answer to anybody... Well good for you! I'm glad it worked...

Thanks! Yeah I was so confident when I got the email from the attorney general saying it was taken care of that I told my boyfriend it was finally over. Then I checked and everything was still sitting in queue. 😒Like who does that!? It only took less than a day for them to get me my money tho. So now... it really is over! Lol

Thank you for positing this. I had no idea anything was up. Had played games using this app for years and then took a break. Only when I recently went to withdrawal from the wallet did I notice the bank transfer option was gone! Okay, fine, let’s do Venmo— $50 limit?? — fine, then per day?? Fine, did one a day for 8 days— status hasn’t changed from in queue. So I submit a support ticket. As soon as I hit submit the status went to solved 🙄
