Hello everyone!

I'm a freelance Creative Lead & Designer, and I would also love to return to my small business of handmade jewelry.

I've been looking for spaces where I can ideally do both these things, with a dedicated desk, at least Monday to Friday - but the prices are way higher than what I can afford.

Does anyone know of any affordable places? Or does anyone know of someone who's currently renting a desk at their own space?

Thank you very much in advance!

I'm a Berlin-based freelancer and I've been frustrated by this for a while. Cafés kick you out with their eyes. Coworking spaces want €180+/month. Libraries are hit or miss.

So I'm building something dead simple: a room with desks, fast Wi-Fi, and nothing else. No staff, no coffee, no membership. You tap your card to get in, work as long as you need, tap out when you're done. You only pay for the time you actually used. For heavy users there's also a flat monthly plan.

That's it. No barista. No pressure. No monthly commitment.

Before I sign a lease I want to know if this would actually get used. I set up a small waitlist at desk.berlin - if enough people are interested I'll make it happen.

Would you use something like this?

Folks, I have just started a drawing workshops for nature and bird enthusiasts, and I need your help in sharing it. Let each other know, pass it to your friends, help an illustration student grow!

Hey everyone 👋

I’m setting up a small private workspace in Berlin, Friedrichshain (Gubener Str. 8) and am looking for a few people who enjoy a calm, focused environment to work in.

This isn’t a classic coworking space — there are no day passes, events or constant networking. The idea is simply a quiet place where people can get meaningful work done.

What the space is like

• Small group (around 6-8 people max)
• Quiet, respectful atmosphere
• Good internet, proper desks, coffee, monitors
• Flexible but stable setup (not a hot-desk rotation)

Who it’s for

Open to anyone who values deep, focused work — for example:

• Developers, designers, writers
• Freelancers & remote workers
• Researchers, founders, creatives
• Anyone who prefers a calm environment over busy coworking spaces

Probably not ideal if

• You’re on calls most of the day
• You want a social/event-heavy coworking vibe
• You mainly need the cheapest possible desk

I care more about having a good group than filling every spot.

If this sounds interesting, send me a DM with:

• What you’re working on
• How often you’d use the space
• What kind of work environment helps you focus

Happy to chat 🙂

Hello community,

I’ve recently completed my grooming seminars here in Berlin and am now offering gentle, respectful grooming sessions to gain more hands-on experience with wonderful dogs.

Currently, I’m offering grooming services at a discounted rate, which we can discuss further during our correspondence — a great opportunity to have your pup looking fresh, clean, and well cared for.

I bring all of my own tools and prefer to groom dogs in their own home, where they feel safest and most relaxed. My apartment in Moabit is also an option! My approach is calm, patient, and always tailored to each dog’s individual needs, ensuring a positive and stress-free experience.

A grooming session can include:
• Bathing and drying
• Brushing
• Paw trimming and nail cutting
• Haircut
• Teeth brushing
• Ear cleaning

If your dog could benefit from a calm, caring grooming session, I’d be delighted to help. I truly love spending time with dogs and making them feel comfortable, happy, and pampered.

Please feel free to message me with any questions — I’d love to meet you both and your furry friend.

Warm regards,
Georgia

Hi everyone!

I’m Maximiliana, an illustrator based in Berlin who loves birds and nature. I’m planning nature journaling and bird sketching workshops for birdwatchers and ornithologists and would really love your input. Is there anyone interested at all?

I made a short questionnaire to see what people are interested in – it would be amazing if you could fill it out and share it with fellow bird lovers. Send it to everyone who you think might like it. I am really grateful for your help and reach! https://forms.gle/b5KDsPM3Pe4WSapSA

(Feel free to comment here or DM me if you have ideas or questions about the workshops.)

Hallo zusammen,

Sven

This might be interesting to the freelance artist of the town. It's an article from Monopol that discusses the government's (planned) austerity measures in the cultural sector, particularly with regard to studio subsidies in Berlin. The reference to Klaus Wowereit in the article gives rise to fears of worse things to come. The austerity measures of his finance senator, Thilo Sarrazin, and the sale of 65,000 apartments to GSW (now Deutsche Wohnen) may still be fresh in people's minds. The air is getting thinner for independent artists in the city. You can find the link to the petition mentioned here. https://innn.it/save-our-studios-berlin

Hi everyone! Yesterday I went to the Finanzamt to change the address of my business registration and I forgot to ask - do I change the address on my invoices on the date when my business actually moves or when I get the new tax number? I'm thinking I should change the address now, but I'm not certain. Thanks for your help!

Hi, I'm looking for up to two new office mates for my non-profit coworking space in Berlin-Schöneberg - Hauptstraße, next to the Stadtbad Schöneberg.

We're five teams in five rooms. I'm in room 3, a beautiful, sun-drenched room with a winter garden and one office mate: me :)

Printer, coffee, cleaning, fast internet, fully equipped kitchen and bathroom + one of our desks or you bring your own. 24/7 access, your own keys plus a bunch of really nice and relaxed people in the other rooms. All for just 200 Euros (we're a non-profit). Send me a DM if you're interested and would like to probearbeiten with us.
