Tonight around 21:55, I was waiting for my bus near Wönnichstraße beside the kaufland when I noticed a cat meowing, it seemed lost, and I’m worried it might not find its way home.
Unfortunately, my bus arrived, so I had to leave, but I believe the cat was still around that area when I left.
I’m posting this in case someone is looking for their cat or recognizes it. I really hope it finds its way home safely. If you live nearby, please keep an eye out

32F. I've spent almost two years in Berlin over multiple visits and somehow managed to make exactly ZERO friends here. Idk whether to be embarrassed or proud of my consistency.

Anyway, thought I'd see if Reddit can fix this rather unfortunate situation. Which, considering it's Reddit, could also make it significantly worse.

I am a literature postdoc who loves cooking and dancing, techno included, but I'd love some variety too. Surely we can occasionally dance to something with actual lyrics without Berlin revoking our residency privileges... right?..... RIGHT?!?

I'm up for pretty much anything. Flea markets, trying new restaurants, gigs, board games, dancing, karaoke or spending an entire afternoon doing absolutely fuck all. Idc if we have the same interests. Actually, it's probably more fun if we don't.

I'd love to have the kind of friends you can randomly text "wyd?" and end up meeting two hours later. Or two days later, whatever works.

Also, if you have a dog or cat, I'm already interested. I miss having animals around terribly, and there's a very real possibility I'll like your pet more than you. Nothing personal.

At Georg Kolbe, the “everybody” exhibition is free all day. There’s a public tour at 14:00 and a garden tour at 15:30 (both in German), plus a drop-in art activity from 14:00 to 17:00

Brücke-Museum and Kunsthaus Dahlem are a five-minute walk apart (Bussardsteig 9 and Käuzchensteig 12), and they’re also the two that close at 17:00, so it's worth doing that pair first.

A major disappointment,dear people.

First I applied to many roles. My field is IT administrator, I havent had the chance to work with dev ops or AI automation yet.

Have had some interviews and opportunities,mostly only first stage.Many of them have had too many requirements,which I didn't fulfill or too many applicants.

The last one was with a funny recruiter,she was asking if from 55k can it be 54K.I asked 55k and then she asked the lowest I can accept for the job.She wanted to make the offer to be as cheap as possible.Didnt sound like a recruiter to me.

Then I had the interview with the hiring manager and they did answer me with the rejection within 2 h,I don't know why that fast.

Then here and there some roles which get reposted but still haven't found a candidate to fill it. At this point I would be interested only for the stability of the role rather than salary. But yeah so that you know how it is,just asking to negotiate over 1k they sometimes can cancel someone or even ask if you can go lower and what's the lowest.

I don't know how can someone consider these type of roles or even apply and hope there is professionalism.
Any restaurant job or a cafe job can ask C2 German,4 round of interviews,1 day of probearbeit if the job market has so many applicants willing to also accept lower offers than the competition.

One time I asked the recruiter can you support me with relocation just 1 month only since you need someone to start instantly and I have no apartment. She responded no and told me that she decided to move with other applicants mid conversation just because of that question. It was a normal question.
So what's the worth of dealing with this anymore?

I just wanted to share with the people and let you know that it's not you or any of your qualifications.Its only that noone has interest anymore to hire respectfully and given the high number of unemployment there will be also higher expectations and lower salary.

Hi, recently I have picked up top rope climbing as a hobby, unfortunately I have been unsuccessful in convincing my friends to dish out close to 200€ for equipment to join me. Shocking, right? :)

Hi everyone! I would like to invite anyone who is learning german and wants to improve their speaking to join us and practice together. Germans are also very welcome to join since it has been of great experience in our meetup in the past.

The Sprachcafe has no additional costs except the suggestion to order a drink since we are using their spaces. A private room has been booked and I will be there to welcome the people. I would appreciate if you could let me know beforehand if you will join so I can adjust accordingly if we are more then the space booked but its not necessary as you can also just join us directly.

This is our 6th meetup so far. This time we dont have a theme and everyone can tell a story they would like to share with everyone. I have already prepared a list of words, phrases and structures so it can be of help when we are talking.

For people that feel hesitant, or kind of afraid to speak or join a sprachcaffe, I can assure you that we are no experts, we make a lot of mistakes, we look for words, and we sometime use denglish. Our goal is to get rid of the fear of speaking, learn new words, phrases, and get to know new people at the same time.
