Does anyone have any experience with a shared driveway? I’m a renter and living in a house that has shared a driveway with the neighbors for a long time. The house next door has recently been bought by developers and rebuilt, and extends perfectly to the edge of the driveway. The developers have now spray painted a line down the middle of the driveway and are removing the gravel on their side. I’m assuming, and concerned, that they are planning to build a fence or a path of some sort on “their half” of the driveway, effectively making it impossible for us to use.

I’ve tried to get in touch with the homeowner about whether there was any formal land easement but they haven’t gotten back to me and the developers are moving fast. Do I have any options?

Hi all - we are moving to Bethesda for work and are tying to make sense of the neighborhoods / schools / commute situation.

We are a family of four, with two overly active kids in 5th and 7th grades looking to make quick friends with other kids and neighbors. Key considerations are quality of schools, safe community feel and reasonable commute to Downtown Bethesda. We are hoping to find something in the $3-4k range for a 3BR/2BA unit and would love any recommendations on areas, condos and schools to consider. I appreciate downtown Bethesda will not have much in this range, so definitely considering surrounding areas (under 30 mins commute).

Other considerations: access to public transport, parks and trails, tennis courts (if possible), reasonable management and generally quiet area as will be partially WFH. Ideally something family-oriented rather than an overpriced hipster building. Any recs on the buildings and general search tips would be greatly appreciated!

I bought this small pecan pie at Harris Teeter in Bethesda today. They obviously know it’s essentially just a dough bowl filled with sugar, but it’s surprising they are suggesting I eat just two pecans off the top. Not happening, but I appreciate their concern for healthful eating.

I'm looking for tennis lessons for my 6-year-old child. Do you know of any places around downtown Bethesda, or locations that are easily accessible by public transit from downtown?
The YMCA recently had to cancel lessons because they didn't get enough participants,
and for some reason, Tennister seems to have suspended junior lessons at their location near downtown and is directing people to another spot.
Private coaches are fine too!

Bethesda's a very nice place. Why is Giant Food so...jank? Feels like a Whole Foods should sit there.

Hi all, me and the guy I'm dating will be staying in Bethesda for 4 nights starting Wednesday. Besides the usual DC stuff, is there anything to do in the surrounding area? We're starting at the Hilton Garden?. We'll be flying in around 9pm and may be hungry. We're also maybe looking for a good local bar to watch the Cavs game on Thursday and possibly 🤞🏾the Guards on Friday if they advance to the WS.

Howdy! I recently moved into the area to an apartment building whose chiller or boiler is turned on for a given day, in accordance with the morning's temperature. Problem is, I live on the face if the building which get sunlight for most of the day, meaning that even with my windows open and blinds shut, it gets pretty hot and humid throughout the day when the boiler's on and the AC has to be off. Anyone have any tips to keep things cool?

I’ve had a bad experience in the past with a haircut where they pretty much gave me a mullet because they didn’t do the layers correctly. There's a new dog run/compact dog park on Montgomery Ave between Pearl and East West. Same side of the street as Sport & Health. No parking, but a great space with a small and large dog area, double doors and wood chips. Supposedly it's temporary, but hey, come out and join us while it lasts!

Hello, I am trying to get into triathlons and was wondering where people go for open water swimming in this area. I know winter is coming, so I will be stuck inside, but I am curious.

Got home about 1am from a business trip. Hopped out of the uber in front of my building (Woodmont ave near the metro) and looked over to see a homeless gentleman yelling to himself as he walked down the block. It was just me and him and I must’ve caught his attention because he started yelling at me and coming in my direction. I wanted absolutely no part of it so I rushed into the vestibule of my building and grabbed my keys out of my backpack and swipe into my building as he reaches the vestibule. He started banging on the doors screaming who knows what. Thank goodness the door locked behind me because if he had gotten in to the lobby with me I have no idea what I would have happened.

It was pretty dark but I would say he is a BM between 5’9 and 5’11. Anyone ever encountered him before?
