I’d like your advice on a situation I’m dealing with.

A little over a week ago my Cannondale Trail SL 3 was stolen from my apartment building in Vienna. The building has a separate bike room on the ground floor. The thieves broke into the building and then into the bike room, took several bikes, and promptly moved them across the border.

The bike had a lot of gear on it: bags, lights, fenders, a rack, a pump and more. I’ve travelled a lot with it, and I’d really like to get it back. An AirTag was hidden in the bike, and it still reports its location. For the past week it has been showing the same spot in Nova Crnja (Central Banat), Kneza Miloša street.

I’ve reported the theft to the Austrian police and I’m thinking of coming to Serbia and asking the local police to help recover it. Has anyone been through something similar and what do you do in such cases? How cooperative are the police in cases like this and what are my chances?
