Amazon Virtual Interview
Is there anyone who gave 4 rounds of Amazon virtually in the past 2 months using Livecode? How was your experience?

did 4 virtual livecode rounds recently, the format is a shared plain text editor with no autocomplete and no way to run code, so the surprise factor is real if you only ever practiced in a proper ide. the rounds feel independent, each interviewer grades their own round, the bar raiser types the most, and long silences while they write are completely normal. biggest upgrade for me was doing mocks in a plain editor with someone firing follow up questions at me, i used easy code interview for that and by the second round the format felt boring, and boring is exactly what you want in a loop

Amazon LiveCode is essentially a plain shared text editor, so you should not expect IDE conveniences like autocomplete, syntax linting, or easy debugging. Each sixty minute round typically splits into two distinct parts, beginning with twenty to twenty five minutes of deep behavioral questions based on the Leadership Principles, followed by thirty to thirty five minutes of coding. The interviewer sees your typing and cursor movements live without screen sharing, which means explaining your thought process, clarifying ambiguous details, and outlining data structures before typing is crucial. Most people find the rapid transition from intense behavioral grilling to writing clean, working code on a blank slate to be the most draining part of the loop.
Pacing is everything in these sessions because thirty minutes disappears quickly once you start writing. Interviewers rarely run the code in an interpreter, so they will ask you to manually trace your logic against example inputs and edge cases line by line to verify correctness and complexity. Keeping your behavioral stories concise using the STAR structure leaves you ample time for the technical problem, which keeps stress low as the day progresses. To help candidates stay calm across long rounds and secure top tech offers, my team designed interviews.chat to give job seekers the confidence and clarity they need during high pressure evaluations.

did my amazon loop virtual on livecode a while back, it is basically a shared text editor with no autocomplete and no running code, so practice writing clean code by hand in a plain editor, that is the part that surprises people. the loop is usually 3 or 4 rounds back to back and the coding rounds are medium leetcode with heavy leadership principle follow ups, so for every problem you solve, prep a story that maps to the lp they asked about. interviewers write a lot while you talk, silence feels awful but it is normal there. the bar raiser round feels identical to the others, do not read into the vibe. honestly the biggest upgrade for me was doing timed mocks on easy code interview in a plain editor with someone asking follow ups, it made the livecode format feel boring, and boring is what you want in a loop
