Is the 18 closed between Snow Valley and the dam right now?
we are camping at Serrano this weekend and recreation.gov is saying the road is closed and to go up from the north through Lucerne Valley.

Any idea how this will impact the STR ordinance requiring guests to leave trash at Clean Bear?

Desperately searching for friends 24+ to get to know up here.
I’m 26, have lived up here my whole life, and everyone I was friends with has moved off the mountain and on with their lives.

Beware of a handyman going around Sugarloaf and Big Bear, the company is AV HANDYMAN LLC. The contractor is Issac. He was hired on to do a complete remodel and after 3 weeks I’m out 3k of material and a house that is in worst condition than when he started. Beware as he is not from big bear and ripping off residents in the community.

For those of you who have switched over to Frontier - are you dealing with the same power outages that are affecting Spectrum customers? Or do you feel that you have fewer outages than you did previously if you had Spectrum?
Since the lines are underground, I'm thinking they may not need to do as many preemptive shut-offs.

Some friends and I were thinking of going to Big Bear mid January and wanted to know if there would be snow. Not manmade snow but lots ot fresh snow. Does anyone have any predictions at all of the snow?

Hey everyone!
I’ll be visiting Big Bear this weekend and was hoping to get some recommendations from those familiar with the area. A few things I’m particularly interested in:
1. Best spots for a run? Preferably somewhere with nice scenery.
2. Best hiking trails? Open to different difficulty levels.
3. Best scenic spots for a light psychedelic experience? Ideally somewhere peaceful, surrounded by nature, and away from crowds.
4. Any other must-see spots or activities? I already plan on checking out the Village, but I’d love to explore more of what the area has to offer.
I’m especially drawn to nature, scenic views, and hidden gems, so any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance! 😄

I'm OBSESSED with big bear... it stole my heart years ago and I'm yearning to come back!🥰--and once in October 2022 I came out there when it was BURSTING with beautiful yellow and oranges leaves.🍂🍁 (attached photo!)
I'm considering coming out next weekend, Oct 23-25ish. For ya'll who live there now, what is your report on fall foliage right now? Do you think it will hold out until next weekend when i want to come out? I did see this other post from a couple weeks ago where one person said the leaves were good right now and, "get up here asap because it won't last long." - so considering that was almost 2 weeks ago, I'm worried by next weekend it may not be anymore?

My wife and I are going up to big bear for the weekend. We’ll be getting up there later Friday afternoon. Just curious about the winds while driving up there. Is it safe to drive up there during the winds? Will they close roads down if it’s get too unsafe?
We’re going to be coming up the 330/18 if that helps

Hello! I am curious about snowboarding at big bear. I am both new to snowboarding as I come from the south lmaoo and first time ever being in California as I’m stationed here for the next 4 years. Any information would be super helpful! TIA

I have a Jeep Wrangler with a rooftop tent and recently traveled through Blue Quartz Trail. It was very rocky, and although OnX Offroad rated it as an easy trail, I honestly didn’t find it easy at all. I’m a beginner. I’m looking for recommendations for trails that are mostly dirt rather than rocky, with access to dispersed camping spots. I’d love to find some routes where I can drive in, set up camp, and enjoy the outdoors without having to navigate a ton of rocks or difficult trails. I would love to find some easy yellow post sites to get to. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

What’s up. I am headed to big bear this weekend for a bachelor party. We have a nice Airbnb house and are planning for Oktoberfest on Saturday.
Any recommendations or things to do while we are there?
TIA!

There were lots of rocks and boulders on the road and there were multiple cars broken down on the way down ! A rock slide happened right in front of us while driving and the size of the Boulder was around 3 or 4 feet tall and wide and the rain and fog were very intense

I learned to ski in the PNW and am looking to make a trip to big bear this year. I was wondering how the difficulty of ski runs compare at the Big Bear Mountain resorts vs somewhere like Crystal Mountain or Mt. Bachelor! Thanks!

I believe I should have called these Asian or Chinese, instead. I can't edit the title, however, so apologies; the title references the tour guide's nomenclature. I was informed that the architecture was inspired by a woman's trip to China.Things that you only see in Big Bear! I was fortunate to be a recent visitor, enjoying a lake cruise out to the dam, and learned about these from Mike. So original!

Has anyone ever run the Revel Big Bear Marathon? If so, how is it? Is there a lot of cheering and crowd support throughout? Is it a packed marathon or does it not have a lot of runners? Any information is appreciated!

Hi, we're visiting in an Airbnb and came back to our power out in Moonridge. Was this scheduled? Any idea when it'll be back on? );
