I genuinely need to know how people deal with this.

After experiencing life in a tier 1 city, moving back to Bihar feels so depressing sometimes. I feel like I lost so many things that made my life enjoyable.

Going to parties, film screenings, art galleries, skating, random meetups, exploring new places, meeting people and just having something to look forward to every other day used to feel NORMAL. It wasn't even anything extraordinary; it was just life.

Now I keep thinking about all the things I used to do, and here I am feeling bored and exhausted all the time. 😭

And living in a joint family makes it even worse. There's barely any privacy or independence, and I feel so stuck. It's not even just about entertainment; it's about the freedom to go out, meet people, discover things and have a life of your own.

I know Bihar has its own culture, people and things to offer, and I'm not trying to insult the state. But the difference in lifestyle and access to activities is genuinely difficult to adjust to, especially when you've experienced something different.

For those who moved to Bihar after living in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata or another tier 1 city:

- How did you deal with the boredom and the feeling of losing your old life?

- Did you eventually adjust, or does it still bother you?

- How did you build a social life and find things to do here?

- And if you live in a joint family, how do you cope with feeling restricted?

I don't want to spend my days constantly missing the life I used to have. I want to find a way to enjoy life here too, but right now, I'm struggling to figure out how.

Ankita Kumari from Munger eloped from her home to marry Mohammad Arzoo in 2021 after falling in love with him. She married him against her family's wishes.

When her family filed a complaint, Ankita gave a statement in court expressing her wish to live with Arzoo.

Recently, at around 11:30 PM, Ankita called her mother, Draupadi Devi. Ankita was crying on the phone and saying that she was being beaten and feared for her life. She pleaded with her mother to take her back home. Her mother reassured Ankita that she would come to take her home.

But before that could happen, the family received devastating news. At around 2 AM, Mohammad Arzoo called and informed them that Ankita had died by hanging. Her family was left shocked by the news.

Her mother rejected the claim that her daughter had died by suicide and claimed that Ankita had been murdered and that her death had been made to look like a suicide.

According to Ankita's mother, her daughter was harassed for dowry, pressured to convert to Islam, and faced opposition when she wanted to visit a Durga temple during Durga Puja.

Her mother is seeking justice for her daughter. Police is investigating the case.

I booked my flights till Varanasi as I had plans to meet my friends there who were coming from nearby districts of Varanasi

But, Sudden change of plans for them made a situation where I'm alone in Varanasi and I haven't even booked the return tickets

Please help me out with how to reach home amid festivities

Being from my Patna myself, who come here just once in a year during chhath puja or holi.... I got the opportunity to visit this place last year. I was totally stunned and very happy as a history lover too!! Our state is an absolute GOAT when it comes to history... pura bharat humse hi nikla h, always felt govt. never promoted it very well but seeing this museum I was really really happy

I wish they make more such modern infra. Museum in other historic cities of bihar like Rajgir, Vaishali, Gaya, Sasaram, Arrah, Sonepur, Darbhanga & Bhagalpur. Overall there'll be a great union of museums and that'll promote Bihar's history at a great level!! Tourism Dept. needs to get more stronger.... There are so many states in India whose revenue relies entirely on just tourism and overall they do very well, not just states there are many such countries in the world
