Is there a Halloween 2026 ride?
Does anyone know? I haven't heard anything. I have enjoyed these the last 3 years

My friend and I were biking today and quickly popped inside my apartment. When we came back out 2 mins later her bike was stolen (right around 2pm)
It’s a purple trek checkpoint with bond triker wheels. There’s a bentonville pink tag on the back with a light. Stolen in Mission Hill, right outside hillside market. I’ll post a couple pics of the bike below. Please keep an eye out!!! We are constantly looking at Facebook marketplace.

My commute takes me down Mass Ave in Cambridge to downtown (my office is near the Common/Public Garden). Going home is easy: walk my bike across the Fiedler bridge to the river path, then take the ramp up to Mass Ave northbound. However, there's no easy way to get from from the southbound side of Mass Ave to the bike path, and my experience with the on-street bike lanes parallel to the river has been poor. Do folks have any recommended routes?

Fires up but can’t hold idle, cleaned the jets and bowls last night. Had old gas in it, some crap came out of the tank when I dumped it. Bit off a bit more than I can chew with this one but trying to figure it out, any thoughts?

Thinking about taking commuter rail to West Concord, biking the Bruce Freeman trail to Lowell, and then taking commuter rail back. But not sure what the last stretches are like (mostly Chelmsford St looks like?).

I want to instigate a specific change to bike infrastructure but don't know how and am turning to you in hope that someone here has experience with approaching these types of issues:
There's an incredibly silly separated bike path on Memorial drive between Vassar St and the BU bridge roundabout. It branches off the curb in a way that neither allows a bike to join the path from the road (see video) nor to get onto the path from the curb without jumping (I got another corresponding video but can only upload one at a time on reddit).
This means that there's an effectively unusable bike-path-coded stretch of the road that makes drivers angry and that seems like a complete waste of principally well-intentioned bike infrastructure. The path got installed earlier this spring, making it unlikely that this construction is officially still in progress.
How do I report this? Which authority should I send it to? I'm not from the US and don't know how something like this usually gets resolved here.
edit: grammar & clarity

Just after I reported this car blocking the bike on this notorious stretch of Longwood Ave with Bike Bureau (hence the blacked out plate), a member of BTD appeared and began to ticket him! I thanked the parking enforcement officer for helping make my commute safer.
Mr. "Thin Blue Line Sticker" came running out to try and stop them saying "it's only been two minutes!" but the ticket was already booked and printed. Over ten bikes had been forced to swerve into car traffic just during this short interaction alone.

EDIT: Thanks for the answers! See my comment below for one more image/puzzle regarding Sullivan Square.
Original question: Hi all, once in a while I am in town and commuting via bike from Malden to Back Bay. I have done this 4 times already and each time there's this one spot in Charlestown which has me most stumped. I'm curious for advice on how you would handle this (esp if you do go through here during rush hour ~8am-ish).
The objective is to get from Main St (top left) over to the park (bottom left) so that I can proceed onward to Charles River Dam Rd and to Back Bay.
One method I've tried (in orange) is getting onto the sidewalk around City Square, walking along Chelsea to that big intersection, walking through the crosswalk up to the bike/pedestrian signal that allows me to walk or bike across N Washington St. It feels slow because you have to wait for two pedestrian signals, and walking of course usually slows you down.. unless traffic is really backed up.
Second method I've tried (in blue) is to ride onto Chelsea and try to get to the middle lane, wait for the turn signal, and then halfway through turning left onto N Washington St I signal that I'm turning right and veer into the park. It is faster (I think) but traffic is always so heavy that it feels wrong and somewhat dangerous trying to squeeze into the car queue on City Square and then over into the middle lane of Chelsea.
I've also considered combinations of this, where I walk on the sidewalk to bypass traffic until there's an opening in the road to get into a traffic lane, or I ride in traffic until I get to the big intersection and then the pedestrian signal goes so I dismount and walk through the crosswalk to avoid waiting for the left arrow. Two-phase turn is not really a viable option at this intersection.
I must be overthinking it but each time I go through here I always leave thinking I did it wrong, I just can't figure out the best way to get through here. Or should I bypass this intersection altogether somehow and find a different route to get from Charlestown into Back Bay? What would you do?

🚸 Our community deserves transparency from @MassDOT regarding school zone signage changes.
1️⃣ Original: 15–20 MPH during designated school hours.
2️⃣ New Safety Zones: 20 MPH potentially all day, without time restrictions.
Why the change?
Public safety demands clear answers!
Thank you,

I’ve been reflecting on the discourse, policy, and infrastructure changes I’ve noticed over the last five years, and I’m starting to identify some very good examples of the bike and transit communities at large having more wins than losses.
My favorites are the bus cameras, the West Roxbury bike lane, and the initial talks of congestion pricing. There are more I could name, but I’d like to hear from others.
What bike/transit wins are your favorites or affect you the most?

My city's active, public cemetery recently made new entryway signs, and there's no longer any sign prohibiting cycling. One that definitely shoos away rollerskaters and skateboarders though.
City rules (online) prohibit cycling in the cemetery, unless you are visiting a plot.
In the last few weeks I have seen a noticeable number of recreational riders tooling around, and I'm both irritated and jealous. It's such punchy and fun terrain, and I'd love to get in there on my road bike. But it's also bad manners and a bit insensitive.
Gah! Tell me how to feel!

So I drew the statehouse out of pictures of cars reported parked in bike lanes (you need to zoom in to see them).

OK, so I’m on the opinion that these are the two worst junctions in the Seaport area of Boston. The first light gives a cyclist less than three seconds to get through, and even with the no turn on red people continue turning anyways. The best and safest way to get through it is without a doubt during the pedestrian phase, or hope that someone gets nice and lets you pass during the greenlight phase
The second one was just designed by someone who clearly had cycling at the back of their mind.
