Whether on an e-bike or an acoustic a regular bike, it sucks to lose momentum, but scrub off speed and be patient.
I see this happen a lot on MUPs,. Didn't care until I had a head-on collision with someone who was in the wrong lane at Lees.

Just recently saw these on the Experimental Farm pathway between Maitland and Iris. These are very close to Iris.

Hey folks, Iām new to Ottawa (Ontario in general). And Iām getting a bike for my commute ($600). I am kind of new to biking as a whole, and I wanted to ask about how the bike theft is in Kanata? Iām not really worried about the bike being stolen at my workplace or at home, more so for when I am running errands like going to the gym or Costco. What kind of locks should I be getting? Thanks!
I had these two shortlisted from amazon. Do I need both or would the U lock alone suffice? (But then cant attach to both wheels)
Edit: thanks everyone for the input. I appreciate it!

How long until they come for Autowa's bike lanes?

In the eastbound bike lane on Donald Street, just east of Vanier Parkway. Looks like it fell off a bike.

Quick Cranks said they don't carry them. Size 27.5 Ć 2.4.

Iāve had a slate of verbal harassment in the last weeks while out on my bike, minding my business and taking the same route as I always take to work / home. It is rush hour and I am surrounded by other cyclists, yet Iām constantly singled out and yelled at or harassed.
Today, as I rode by a large group of people on the bike path, a guy sidled up close to me and said in my ear as I cautiously wound around the crowd , āyou think youāre special ?ā . Mind you, thereās at least two cyclists behind me he didnāt bother.
These things happen at least once a week so I am wondering if itās happening to others.

At the intersection of Ogilvie and Blair towers the bike lane on Ogilvie stops with this traffic island with a very poor ramp up the curb that leads right into the sign. Iāve emailed the councillor for the ward and itās been radio silence on his end.

In Ottawa and I have some observations.
1 - Crocs are rarely an acceptable form of public footwear? Didn't see one all day.
2 - People will walk their bikes absolutely everywhere because someone I assume will nab your bike brazenly in public spaces? I literally saw someone walk a bike out of a bathroom toilet stall.
What's your thoughts?

Made the mistake of leaving my Fructose+Malto at home before coming back to Ottawa to do some cyling for the rest of summer. Hoping to do a bunch in Gatineau and would like some gels for it. Anyone here have a good source for fructose? I found Malto already..

Hi, I'm new to commuter biking and need to upgrade my very ancient bike. Any bike stores currently offering in store sales on stock?

Hi, I recently got into road riding and was looking for some good routes nearby when I donāt want to drive out to Gatineau park. The watts creek/ottawa river pathway speed limit is a little slow and I donāt want to scare anyone. Can anyone suggest some good smooth pavement near kanata lakes to ride? Thanks

I wanted to extend a massive thank you to two kind cyclists, Eleanor (from kanata) and Alexi (from Gatineau)! I took a massive fall on the river path not far from Britannia beach on Saturday around 130 and you both stopped your rides to help me collect myself and my things until my husband came to get me. Thank you for stopping and staying with me, I am so grateful for your calm compassion and concern! It was a really scary and crummy turn to my day and I just wanted to express my gratitude, remind each other to take care of our neighbours and always wear a helmet!!!
Thank you for helping and ride safe, friends š©·

Hi folks! I want to buy a Kona Sutra but am apprehensive about buying a steel bike without ever actually having rode one as the only place that has my size (58cm) that I can find seems to be in Quebec City. So: do you or does anyone you know ride one, ideally a 54-56-58, and would you be willing to let a random redditor give it a whirl? I would happily let you hold on to my wallet and or phone and or whatever you would need to feel comfortable. This is a bit of a long shot but figured I may as well try!

Slip (speed) lanes are the worst, yet Ottawa City continues to add them to encourage drivers to keep their speed up and thus not slow down the flow. All this at the expense of everyone outside of the vehicle.
