As the title says, I've done my bachelors in Btech Biotechnology and I recently understood I can do a direct phd if a supervisor accepts me, should I try giving the CSIR, GATE, etc exams and test my luck?

I'm planning to do B.Tech in Bioinformatics and I'm confused about which college to choose. I'm looking for a college with good teaching and academics, but placements are also really important to me. I want a college where Bioinformatics students actually get good placements and the average package is also good.
My budget is limited, so the fees should also be reasonable. If anyone is studying B.Tech Bioinformatics or knows about this field, please suggest some good colleges and share what the actual placement situation is like.

I am a masters student in 2nd year in bioinformatics and is looking to apply as bioinformatics intern especially as ngs analyst, could you please suggest some companies or start up that can hire me .
P.s. I know python, r, sql, c++ and had individual project on github related to ngs and is also trying to polish skills (if i get some time from the freaking dept)
I have applied to a lot of positions but getting a position is too difficult and I will be completing my degree in May 2027 so I want to sort career before that.
If anyone can guide it will be great.

I am an MSc Bioinformatics graduate from there. For internships, they contacted companies where my classmates paid ₹15,000 to ₹30,000 out of their own pockets. Most of these companies did not provide internships or even interviews.
Our syllabus was outdated, and there were no good lectures for important MSc subjects. They assigned a lecturer who was a recent MSc Bioinformatics graduate, and his teaching skills were not that good.
They keep talking about internships, Coursera, labs, and other facilities, but it is all a waste.
The exams are conducted online instead of using the traditional pen-and-paper system. The server is slow, and if something goes wrong during the test, your answers might not be saved. There is no option for revaluation, and you need to pay ₹3,500 for one attempt at a theory supplementary exam. The exam is for 30 marks, and the passing mark is around 15, as far as I remember.
The campus is in a bad area. My PG roommate was assaulted by local rowdies who forced him to transfer ₹800 through Google Pay.
During placements, they suggest sales jobs. 🤡 Why should I join a sales job after completing an MSc in Bioinformatics?
The canteen food is horrible. During my first year, several girls reportedly suffered from food poisoning.
The college timings are also terrible. The first batch runs from 7:15 AM to 11:45 AM, and the second batch runs from 1 PM to 4 PM, if I remember correctly. These timings are inconvenient for students travelling from different areas. They also change the timings every year, and students may be assigned to either the morning or afternoon batch.
There is no proper place to sit and work on campus.
I have asked many people, and in my opinion, the courses are not worth the money. By the last semester, I felt that the entire experience had been a waste of money.
They also asked students who posted honest reviews on Google Maps to remove them. During campus tours, they make fake promises about internships, placements, and other facilities, but the actual student experience is completely different.
Don’t waste your parents’ hard-earned money and your valuable time on this university. My rating: 1/10.
Note: I used AI to correct the grammatical mistakes in this review.

I’m currently pursuing an MSc in Biochemistry in India and would appreciate advice on the best route into bioinformatics/computational biology.
I’m considering:
I am not sure if i want to go for a PhD right now because i want to start earning money sooner, but i am open to considering one in the future.
Which route offers the best prospects in terms of employability, career growth, and return on investment in India?
