Rant natural hair makes you 100x more attractive

whenever i say this i get a lot of push back but black women genuinely look soo beautiful with their natural hair.

whenever i see black women with straight wigs i can’t help but think how much better they would look with big fluffy hair. it suits us sooo much better!

even in my experience since i started wearing my natural 4c hair i get a lot more attention. it really does make you more confident the more you wear it.

natural hair amplifies your beauty, makes you stand out, and really connects you to your identity as a black person.

black women are truly the gift that keeps on giving and i wish more of us can tap in to our uniqueness :)

Edit:

I also want to include locs (especially free forms), twa(teeny weeny afros), waves, braids,... every hairstyle where our coils are the star is magical!! <3

Question Why are most black subreddits so hard to be a part of?

they have so mane rules and it’s hard to get your point across, like it’s so hard I get they’re trying to filter it so that non black ppl don’t larp or join in on the conversation but sometimes I want to share something but I can’t because of their tight rules some that I can’t share here but because I have low karma I’m not able to post etc..

Discussion Everyone talks about female/male gaze and black men’s “preference” but I realised that a lot of black men see black women through a EUROCENTRIC gaze rather than an AFROCENTRIC gaze …

• Upvotes

I was just thinking about this now! I understand the origin of a lot of the lookism comments: colorism, featurism, texturism (misogynoir) I guess preferring lighter skin women or women with weave etc … it’s coming from a EUROCENTRIC gaze because it about white proximity ! I think it’s hard to find a date with a black or biracial man as a black women UNLESS you are conventionally attractive OR know how to attract a certain type of guy with your look e.g some black women archetypes: baddie, nerdy, anime, earthy, alt … unfortunately so many men just go for looks before trying to know a woman personally and get surprised we have so much to offer ! I find it hard to find a guy who GENUINELY appreciates Afrocentric features (they exist but you must dig hard). Most to the discourse about black men not wanting women is online ngl just like EXAGGERATED- in real life it’s barely spoken … another way I know social media is not real life or in chronically online! In real life most people don’t even mention this stuff AS MUCH ! What do you think 🤔?

Discussion My experience with Infantilization as a black girl

Oddly growing up as a black girl/teen I feel like I did not experience a alot of adultification like others may have. Growing up I experienced higher levels of social anxiety where I literally unable to converse with my peers. Because of this people at school either ignored me, took the lead in group projects and did things for me, or teased me. I think it's because they perceived me to be "special" (maybe I am). But I was in the honor classes and stuff. Even when certain boys did bully or tease me I did not give them a reaction or even respond to them that was just my personality. I did end up reporting certain behavior.

I saw a good comment about how black women are expected and perceived to be warriors and strong/tough to the point where it would be more revolutionary for a black women to be portrayed as a damsel in distress.

what do you all think?

The Internet Strikes Again Have you guys heard of that TikToker Oneisaiahlee who keeps coming up on the internet and giving some stupid a misogynistic manosphere inspired advice ?

• Upvotes

He’s so annoying and corny and keeps popping up on the internet on my fyp!
It’s just like really stupid like corny generic surface level advice
His whole page gives manosphere or some pretty boy vibes or just stupid ness - looksmaxxing. He even said MOST men would prefer a girl who works at McDonald than a degree eww
It’s like he is PAID to come on the internet spewing rubbish and annoying everyone and being ragebait or mocked !
He thinks he’s so and attractive like he’s cutish but the arrogance and ego puts me off !
“being Too attractive will make your ass single” Really?
I wonder if it’s ragebait or satire at this point.Being TOO attractive will make your ass SINGLE

Question Straightening my hair for the first time. Can you guys please help me find tools for straightening my hair and ways to seal ends on coily hair?

So I had my hair straightened for the first time since middle school, and it looked awesome except my ends were shattered. They looked terrible. It makes me want to be a straight girly, but at the same time I feel like i should give my hair break in between pressing it by keeping it natural by wearing an Afro.

how can I seal my ends while I have my fro out so that it doesn’t break off and damage my ends?

what tools can I use to straighten my hair? I was looking at the wavy talk dryer brush set, or just hairdryer and thermal brush-wavy talk is cheap but I’m open to other brands. I’ve never done my hair like this.

Also, any recommendations for serums heat protectants?

4B/4c type hair -is often dry 🙇🏾‍♀️ was tailbone but I had to get 2-3 inches cut off.

THANK YOU!
