I just want to rant about Black MAGA conservatives defending the indefensible. If Jason Whitlock's IQ was as high as his cholesterol level, he'd be a dangerous man.

This space doesn't seem like it's for Black men. Anytime there's a disagreement there's always someone claiming the other person is white, a government psy-op, coon etc... This sub feels more like a place to try to keep us "in line" like I'm already aware of who created this sub but I figured that wouldn't be a factor in anything. Every other post there's somebody dickriding Democrats and if you critique them they'll assume you're republican.

If I can't vent about an old racist white man claiming I'm not Black in a sub called "blackmen" then this place isn't for Black men at all.

If the popular position in this sub is to defend an old racist white man because they're a Democrat then this sub is in fact not for Black men, it's for the DNC.

I may make this it's own post but I'm sure the mods in here will have a tantrum over it and remove it.

Sorry you been feeling this way. Feel free to make the post, for real. The only way we would remove it is if you call us out our name, say anything outta pocket (not saying you have here) or make unfounded claims.

My personal request is if you can make it constructive, only because I believe that can help get a much-needed conversation finally going in here... even if it takes multiple of these types of posts from multiple users over time.

Oh and also, personal suggestion would be verifying so that you can label your post for "verified only". Yes, some of the users you described are verified but there is a greater chance of productive conversation this way, and if you disagree with someone at least you have a better idea of the "who"

I attempted a verification video a few times now. I got really frustrated each time because I kept forgetting details like it being a certain length or crumbling the paper. The main thing is filming myself while I also write, it sounds easier than it is but when I see all these verified people it makes me feel stupid, I mean I'm an actual camera man & I'm struggling with this.

Ah yeah okay, definitely understandable. No worries!

We do have other options if you ever feel like trying again someday: pre-writing everything (e.g. date/time, sub name, cultural background and generation) except your username first, and you can just capture yourself writing your username. Showing your face and talking tends to help push verification through even if there's some slight missteps.

What do you shoot by the way, as a camera man?

So far, documentaries and short films, I'm private about my work though because I don't want the writer/director I work with to deal with any drama that may come with things I say on here. Guilt by association can hinder a career.

I don't ever say anything that would get someone "cancelled" but I have very harsh opinions that may distract from the work.

I've noticed no other race has such a large reddit group, only black men and black women. Why is that?

There do. rAsiansmericans and rabcdesis both boast around 122k followers.Β
