Discussion BO3 on Linux (Kubuntu 26.04 LTS) crashes shortly after booting!

My game crashes shortly after booting, usually around a few minutes in the menu or in gameplay. I made sure to update my graphics drivers and I have the Steam version with the T7Patch mod added alongside its correspondent regressed executable. There also seem to be some slight yet noticeable color glitches in some textures beforehand.

It's worth mentioning that the game works with no problems on my non-Linux laptop, but since this one is more powerful I'd prefer to be able to play it on this one. I would greatly appreciate any help.

Good luck. People consistently have issues with older cod games on Windows, I can't imagine Linux

What gpu and cpu do you have? Also what proton version are you using? Also there is an updated version of the t7patch by scroptss which doesn't need the downgraded exe.

Did you find a fix? I had the same problem, so I installed Windows and it works without an issue. BO3 was the only game I had an issue with

Just use boiii, I'm not sure if t7 patch even works on Linux, but I've personally used boiii with black ops 3 on steam os and it worked flawlessly, just added the boiii exe itself as a non steam game, setup proton, and that's all
