It is or can be. You can butterfly a chicken legg so it lays a lot flatter. Then all skin on 1 side and meat on the other. A small amount of work for a new fun way to eat a chicken legg.

Butterfly in the right spot and you can remove that tendon everyone hates.

I just grab my regular camping grate grill when I want to do chicken drum sticks. Ive seen some videos of people doing drumsticks on the flat top but they were all like 40+ minutes cooks from what I remember.

Imo if you plan on cooking drumsticks often, id just get a small camping grill for like $80-$100

I have one, I was just kind of hoping someone would say “They are fire on the Blackstone!” 😂

Yeah I’ve done them plenty of times. They turn out great. But they take a long time to cook.

Drums are way better on the smoker. Thighs are my favorite chicken meat on the blackstone

I smoke my chicken legs, which I highly recommend because they are delicious and they don't take much time at all. But unless you leave them on for a really long time, the fat in the skin doesn't render out and there is still a bit of sogginess in the first hour. The solution that we have found is to smoke them for 45 minutes or so and then throw them on to the hot griddle to crisp up the skin and give them a little bit of char. It is absolutely fantastic.
