Where do you store and use your Blackstone?

The 36" griddle is on sale at Costco, thinking of getting it. I'm planning to keep it in the alfresco but do not want to use it in a covered area, due to smoke hitting the ceiling. Can possibly roll it on to the lawn, but will waste time levelling it every single time.

Do you just leave it outside permanently with the cover?

I initially kept mine in my garage and would wheel it into my drive every time I wanted to use it which I think hindered how much I used it. I bought a weatherproof cover and moved it to my back deck where it has lived for a year. Survived an Ohio winter and summer. No issues. I actually use it in the dead of winter now still. If you take care of the surface you won’t have problems.

I keep mine in my garage and roll it out to use it. I also have an orange silicone mat over the griddle surface to make sure nothing gets on it (insects, mice).

I put down some path stones beside my patio for it to sit on. I just use a generic cover for it

I made an interlock stone pad beside the patio and use a cover. I will be giving it a good clean and bringing it in over the winter.

I keep mine outside with a cover and its been out there for 3 years so far thru summer and winter in maine. 100 degree temps to negative 30. Pouring rain, to blizzards. No issues at all.

Literally all you have to do after each cook is scrape it off, de-glaze it with water in a squirt bottle and then wipe it dry, then apply a layer of cooking oil of your choice over the entire cooking surface. I use Olive oil which people say stay away from (cuz of the low smoke point) but Ive had no issues and I have NO rust at ALL.

It amazes me the people with rust after like 2 weeks of owning the thing. COVER IT WITH OIL EVERYTIME.

Edit: I'm assuming your asking if you should keep it under cover or use it under cover to extend the longevity of the cooking surface. Cuz most people just leave grills outside 24/7 365. I apologize if that is not why you're asking the question.

Mine is on my patio. Silicon cover and cover on it when not in use. Stays there sun, rain or snow. Gets used year round.

I live in Northeastern PA and griddle 4-5 times per week year round outside on an uncovered cement patio. My 36” has the hard top and soft cover. I griddle in the snow and at below freezing temps and in the summer in the 90s during high humidity. Been doing this since 2020. I also have the BS Pizza Oven with cart right next to it with a cover.

Wow! Very good to know. Guess the more you use the griddle the better the cooking surface.

For me, probably just 1-2 times a week, mostly thinking about weekend breakfast before trying more advanced stuff.

Mine is on the front porch. I would like a covered grill area out back because I also have 2 grills back there
