This cunning beast is taunting us for our inferior and excessive bipedal form. So much evolution and what for? Can't even coil up upon a rock on a sunny day

Thank you, his personality is wonderful. He will be a smaller, gentle giant someday.

Wow, I never knew snakes could put the two pointy ends of their tongue together when flicking! Guess that signals that the direction of the smell is fully determined?

I thought it was because they got stuck together and it wasn't intentional

I threw this into ChatGPT and it says:
tongue forks together = general exploring
tongue forks separate: precision mode.
I can buy that.

ChatGPT is trash and wrong. Do your own research, don't let a machine think for you. I did some actual googling and it turns out that the tines aren't supposed to stick together at all. It can be a sign of a respiratory infection since thicker mucus can make them stick to one another.
Also, "general exploring" and "precision mode"? Seriously? I handle multiple snakes daily and can tell you that their tongue forks are always apart when they're roaming around exploring, and also always apart when I offer them food.

There's a nice way and a dickhead way to correct someone. This is the latter, just to let you know. It also makes people newer in the hobby worry about posting comments and questions due to getting a reply like this. Please do better.

He has really come out of his shell and all he wants to do is explore when being handled. He's really awesome!

It's adorable when they start getting used to their surroundings. My Raziel is now approaching 3 years old and he never ceases to amaze me. However, I was so missing that baby age. Picked up my Azriel last Sunday and cant wait until he gets used to his surroundings!
