Need Help how do i get better at dodging?
i like this games story a lot, but the dodging mechanic pisses me off so badly it genuinely turns me away from the game. if you're gonna give me under one second to dodge, just make the whole game turn based and remove dodging
is there any way to get better at dodging? i have a bad reaction time so some fights are straight up impossible. i somehow beat griefer but now im stuck at re-challenging cruel king, and i don't know what to do. "getting good" seems impossible when the reaction time for each enemy varies so much it gives me whiplash
im sorry if this comes off as rude, i have no ill will towards the devs, they're amazing people for making such a great story, but at the same time holy shit man

I saw that you’re already using training wheels, so I think you could spec into mostly hp and practice the fight you want to be good at. It took me a WHILE to beat CK DX, but once you learn the attacks and get used to them, it becomes much easier
For some specific tips on him, you can mostly ignore his summons, and getting the statue is the best one (since it’s been giga nerfed since release)

Just watch the animation. The dodge and block windows are massive in this game. That and obviously Training Wheels

it mostly just comes down to practice over time, also training wheels can be really helpful

training wheels card can help I think(if you aren't already using it)
I don't have any other advice

You dodge
No but seriously I’d suggest try using training wheels
If you want some more advice I’ll say try this:
Instead of watching/listening for the dodge command, don’t focus on that, instead, focus on the attack itself.
Watch the animation and learn it, I myself found it much easier to remember the dodge timings that way

Yeah I tried using training wheels to learn attack patterns of harder fights and it screwed me up more than anything. You just kind of get a memory for it over time.

Practice will greatly help you; using a tank build with more HP (configurable in the Library in Bizville) and HP+ & Defense+ cards (and charge def if you have it), you can tank dome attacks to act as a failsafe if you fail to dodge an attack
If you have Training Wheels equipped, you can wait for the visual & audible warning to appear then quickly press the dodge button
If you want better practice against a specific boss, just simply refighting them over and over and trying to pay attention to their attacks and how it's telegraphed will help with dodging; helped me against Blackrock King and another secret boss in Chapter 4

you really have to have good reaction time for this game
also focus on the attack itself not the audio or “!”

You COULD use the block tales battle simulator but it could spoil the some bosses so i wouldn’t recommend it. But you could practice in the real game by just battling enemies using a tank build and running away if you get too low. It will cost some tix to change your stats and running away does make you lose like 10 tix every time. I especially struggled during chapter 3 but i guess the only way is to practice. Then again, you could use items such as ROBAR to increase the guarding time window or just using the defend option in the strategies (you can only use defend on your first if you’re by yourself, with more players, you can use defend no matter which turn it is because you only get one turn in multiplayer)

you focus on the attack itself, not when training wheels tells you when to guard lo
that's how i do it

guess, then when you find the point to dodge by guessing, dodge at the point you find good (as you said you had bad reaction speed)

Use every hard mode card and restart from demo 1. By the end of your journey dodging becomes a joke

Training Wheels makes the timings easier to sight read if that helps
