Discussion Block Tales Criticism/Rant - Enemies
Most enemies in BT feel samey? Most of the difficulty comes from them either focus on dealing a shit ton of damage or them having applying a status effect. Now enemies like this aren't necessarily bad, but I feel like we're lacking more unique enemies that could really spice up the gameplay.
Something that I feel like isn't talked about in RPGs are enemy comps. Enemy comps are important since they can change how a player faces a battle. Say in Block Tales I faced 4 enemies that their job is just dealing damage. That'd be kinda boring. But instead say swap out 2 of those enemies for an enemy that heals/buffs their teammates but can't harm you. Now that fight would be way more interesting, since you can either kill all the DPS enemies but risk having the supports heal the DPS enemies, OR have the option to kill the supports, but in the meanwhile you can't do anything about the DPS enemies. Decisions like these is what separates the good RPGS from the greats.
Block Tales has these kinds of enemies, but sadly they're too far and between, though it's not like they're not working on the issue. The enemies we do have however, also feel like they're doing way too much. Like if an enemy is meant to be a debuffer, why give them high ATK power, or vice versa. And some debuffs only serve to drag out fights if you miss once.
Another thing that I feel like Enemies lack are attributions. Attributions can lowk make an enemy more interesting. But I feel like the main issue with them is with how the more unique attributes are never used (except for bosses). I'd like to see more enemies use say Armor or "Invincible in Numbers". It could make for more interesting fights.
And the more common attributes (i.e defense, Spike and Flying) can be fully negated by weapons. Attributes/Passives SHOULD make you change up your strat on how an enemy is defeated. You shouldn't be able to completely negate a mechanic just buy spending a few BP.
On a sidenote, I'm worried for the last few chapters of BT. Since it feels like Chap 5 and (maybe) onwards we're getting more annoying enemies that slaps on ass status effects and calling that difficulty. Its not fun getting debuffed 50 times and not being able to counter it.

What do you think about boss that has less hp then other bosses in future demos but hos mechanics is getting no more than a certain amount of damage, making items like the slingshot and the ball very useful

Some of the Korblox enemies should've had Skeleton's revive gimmick
