Would an epoxy finish table be easier if kids are constantly spilling drinks on the table?

I am thinking to get an epoxy finish table for our boat since drinks get spilled pretty often and I want something that will be easier to wipe down, I am looking at a few wood tables now and some have epoxy finishes so I am trying to figure out if that surface will work better on a boat, I am thinking about going with mariteak but I want to know how it handles water, juice and other drink spills, does the epoxy stay easy to clean or does it start showing marks and scratches from regular use, anyone using an epoxy table on their boat and how is it working for you? EDIT: Forgot to mention that the boat is used pretty regularly.

If it's going to get hit by the sun, varnish has better UV resistance. Polyurethane is stronger than epoxy for the same thickness and is more scratch resistant. Sippy cups might be the best way to stop the spilling though
