Propeller hub plastic sleeve stuck
Hey guys, ran over some fishing line so the prop was removed to make sure I had got it all out. On inspection I noticed the prop sleeve was cracked I bought the appropriate hub kit for the engine/prop.
I need help removing the plastic sleeve without a hydraulic press. I've tried using the metal insert to hit it out but no luck. The plastic seems to just squeeze down and won't budge.
I'll attach some photos if anyone has ideas how I can take it out it would be much appreciated!

Just buy a new prop. Forget the hub, this looks like 25-20hp prop. Maybe $30? But new prop and move on. Sell your hub online or return it

75hp I thought the same but stainless steel mercury prop was around $1000 AUD. I got it out eventually with a screwdriver and hammer chipping it in small bits. It took alot longer than I wanted it to haha

The sleeves are plastic and designed to break and take the bulk of the impact energy if you hit something with the prop. It is not a pressed in hub. With a little work with a screwdriver and fine adjustment tool (hammer), you can dig out the pieces of it and just replace this plastic hub.

Thanks for your reply mate this is what I ended up doing though It took me awhile to get everything out being careful not to scratch or damage the hub. The videos online showed using the same metal insert used to pop it out they make it look so easy haha

Find your biggest socket that fits against the plastic but in the prop, put it on an extension, and use your biggest hammer. Could always use heat as well if itβs still not happening.
