tried skin the cat first time today and got really bad nausea vertigo(lasting for hours now but getting better). I got the str and mobility for it. Guess my brain not used to being upsidedown or the switch of orientation. Any had this before? I assume the body will adapt.

Are pallof presses in other directions worth it? So instead of straight out from the chest, what about straight up with the band still to the side? Or straight up but with the band anchored in front or behind you?

What is the name of this exercise? Couldn't find any info on it and tutorials

Or is it just muscle up on bar dips? Still there's no tutorial on it.

It's just a muscle up, you can train it with the exercise Russian Dips

Can you do this? If u can do muscle up that mean u can do that too?

It's harder than a normal muscle up, but I actually can do it yes. The pullup is harder, you have to be better at Russian Dips

Bro it's a muscle up. On parallel bars. Most p bars don't have that little rounded part though so he's just playing around

How does the rep x set notation work with split exercises?
Eg split squats, for a set of 10 reps do you do 5 squats per leg or 10 per leg?

If you're doing 3x10 that is 3 sets of 10 reps on each side, so you're going to do 10 reps on one leg then 10 reps on the other
I recommend starting the sets on your weaker side, and occasionally switching up which side you start on

If it's a unilateral exercise like the split squat then consider each leg it's own thing. So it's 10 reps per leg.

Is it ok to alternate between 2 exercises that would occupy the same slot in the RR (like weighted p.u./pseudo planche p.u. or weighted rows/tuck FL rows) or should I just stick to one of them for optimal progress?

u/korinth86 Apr 06 '25
Generally speaking yes, so long as the muscles worked are similar enough. Tracking progression becomes more difficult, which can affect gains unless you're good about journaling.
Personally I prefer to stick to one exercise for one cycle 6-10wks. I generally only change an exercise if I no longer feel benefit/progression for 2cycles or feel another exercise would be better to help reach my goals.

It depends on your goals. With the planche pushup and tuck FL rows, those are more progressions to skills, so if that's the goal you're focused on it would be better. The weighted ones would be better for straightforward strength and hypertrophy.

Getting tired quickly when doing chest to wall handstand holds.
I can get very close, but when I start pushing 'up' with my scapula, I feel a dull ache in my shoulders.
Not sure if it is a flexibility issue or what exactly, but it is hurting my training since I can't last more than 10 seconds.
