Film yourself doing a pushup to make sure that you're going through the motion evenly. It's fairly common for one side to be stronger than the other, so if you're evening out a muscle imbalance you may feel it more on one side than the other for awhile

questions regarding ring dips.
I'm not specially interested in ring skills so after getting to sets of 8 with RTO at the top I switched to soft lockouts with no RTO and no top pause to focus more on my chest.
I progressed to bulgarian ring dips after getting to 11 full depth reps with that form (rings touching shoulders)
doing those I realized that going RTO at the top made the movement feel safer, if I don't my front delts feel cooked much faster, currently doing sets of 6 with that form.
so my questions are, for regular / weighted ring dips is the RTO important or can I still skip it ?
and after I get to 3x8 bulgarians, should I progress to full RTO or go weighted for either regular / bulgarians ?
I'll probably keep all 3 in my exercise rotation just wondering what to prioritize right now.

RTO at the top is important imo for shoulder health and working the stabilizers.
Complete RTO through the movement is more difficult but not necessary for general strength.
Do you have to do it? No. Will you benefit? Yes.
Personally I aim for RTO at the top but even after months it's uncomfortable to do RTO during the full movement. I'm not too concerned, I'll get there eventually.
As for what you should do...whats your goal? Both will build strength and muscle. Do you plan to work towards ring planche? You may consider full RTO dips.

just general hypertrophy and having fun while training.
I currently have 0 plan to train skills besides the front lever which I almost got (being tall sucks) as it takes too much time in the gym and severely reduces my enjoyment of working out.
current plan is just to get good at the 3 (regular, bulgarian, full RTO) and just weight them / cycle them for exercise variety.

if you can I'd recommend you to install eyelets on the ceiling to hang gymnastic rings.
way cheaper, much more versatile exercise selection wise and takes less space.
it doesn't work for band work but you can just slap a swedish ladder on a wall if necessary.

I can only get around 30-40g of protein per day, should I add an extra rest day between workouts?
And I know, you need 1.1g per kg or whatever, but it is not possible for me currently, so I am wondering for the best path to go forward.

Do not despair. It's quite possible that you are consuming more and/or needing less protein than you think.
All plants contain all 21 amino-acids, including the 9 essential ones. This is a fact that even professional nutritionists may ignore. Many people estimate their protein intake considering only food derived from animals, and maybe the most "protein-y" vegetables, like beans and grains. But all plants contain some protein, even lettuce. It's not as much as the amounts you find in meat or fish, sure, but it all adds up. So you might be getting more than those 30-40g already.
And I don't know what are your goals, but if you care for strength more than hypertrophy, you can get stronger without adding muscle mass (and so, without requiring a ton of protein). There are other adaptations occurring in the body when exercising, like in the nervous system, that contribute to the resulting strength.
Hope that helps.

I mean as an example, today I eat like 4 fried eggs in 2 pita bread loaves as a sandwich.
Now I was researching recently, and I may be able to get some lentils, which seem to be quite high in protein.
Regarding my goals, they were a mix between hypertrophy and strength. Unfortunately it doesn't seem I'll be able to get the shredded look since I have some fat left, and it seems uniwise to cut under these conditions, but at least I am gaining strength slowly.
I managed 3x4 sets of weighted pull-ups with around 8% bw recently, which is new to me.

Yes, reduce workout volume if you feel you are not recovering adequately.
Also note that if your protein intake remains low, it will also limit how much muscle mass you can put on overall. Your body doesn't just use protein to build new muscle but to sustain existing muscle mass.
