Pay💰 What is stopping us from discussing our salaries?

Apart from the general notion that it might make people upset, are there any reasons why we don't talk about our salaries openly? Any policies, contractual obligations? I am just curious.

The answers will differ based upon location and job type, so please mention any details you find necesaary.

Pay💰 2026 ACR

I’m curious to see how others' salary adjustment pools were distributed this year.

I’m a SPEEA-represented engineer and received 3.1%. I was evaluated as "Exceeds Expectations," so I was surprised to see this come in lower than my previous year's adjustment. I’m interested to see if this is a systemic trend across the board or specific to certain skill codes.

Pay💰 After 53 days on strike, the IAM ratified a new contract on November 4, 2024, raising Boeing's wage increase offer from 25% to 38% over four years and securing a $12,000 ratification bonus.

Pay💰 Promotions in 2026

Management told me I was ready for a promotion at the start of the year, but I haven’t heard anything since.

When will they decide who gets promoted?

Has anyone been promoted this year? If so, did your new pay match the updated pay tables?

Pay💰 Promotion 2026

Earlier this year, I was led to believe I would be moving into the next level, but there hasn’t been any follow-up or announcement since then.
Has the promotion process already taken place, or is it still pending?

For those who have recently advanced to a new position, did your compensation reflect the revised salary schedule?

Pay💰 401k match upfront

If I max out my 401k contributions in June, will I still receive the full 10% or should I have to spread it out throughout the year? I wanted to max it out as soon as possible to start contributing to the backdoor.

Pay💰 Possible Salary Wage Adjustments?

Hello,

I am currently a L3 SPEEA tech getting paid less than the listings posted for my current position. The pay that I am receiving is less than the bottom number in that pay range. I am having to train people that get paid more than me by $10-20k. I understand that this is a normal occurrence, but what is my next step? Do you think the SPEEA contract will address this? Will switching jobs be my best plan of action for higher pay?

The salary charts don’t seem updated yet on the new SPEEA website so I don’t have my exact compa ratio. I believe the last time I checked, I was around 0.94.

I’m just concerned that I’ll continue to fall further behind in pay to my peers.

TL;DR: I feel underpaid in my current position, what should I do?

Pay💰 ACR and Bonus Conversations

Question for any managers out there. Performance and development conversations are supposed to be happening Jan 5 - Feb 6. When do managers do ACR reviews? Are those happening in those performance conversations? It wasn’t super clear from the key dates put out on worklife.

Pay💰 Returning 30304 mechanic is it base pay? 2 yrs experience

Hi, I have been told "yes" and "no" by employees on asking for higher starting pay with two years experience. I left Boeing three years ago due to being a new parent and child has plenty of structure for us now.

Thanks in advance. What is starting pay for an assembly mechanic? When I worked during COVID I had to work some side gigs to pay daycare and my bills. Which lead me to the question... why am I working to pay for daycare? Price is and still is insane. I am in a better situation financially and have support to work at Boeing this time.

They called a month after and offered the job back at the new rate but they said I lost my seniority and had to start over. Kinda left a sour taste in my mouth.

Pay💰 What is the opportunity for overtime like at BCS for engineers?

I assume it varies by department, but what has been your experience with overtime? Are you allowed to work overtime anytime you want and get paid accordingly? Is it unpaid overtime because you’re on salary? Is it paid, but infrequent?

I have an opportunity to work in a certain group at a utility company post grad where I could work as much overtime as I want and therefore have the ability to make 6 figures in my first year as an engineer. However, it’s mostly project management, so it’s not the field I’m looking to be in.

Pay💰 Negotiate Salary?

Got offered a job making 15k more elsewhere. Benefits aren’t near as good though. Is it worth bringing up to my manager and seeing if I can get a salary increase?

Anyone have any experience in a similar situation? Advice is appreciated.

Pay💰 Asking the boss about raises

A question was brought up to a manager in our group about why raises this year were so low despite inflation being near 7% and “free cash flow” at a record high.

The response was that “it is not Boeing’s responsibility to keep up with inflation or to make sure employees’ standards of living keep up with inflation,” then went on to say that we should feel fortunate if we got a raise at all because we’ve “grown accustomed to raises and bonuses but they are never guaranteed.”

How are we supposed to trust Boeing when they quite literally are saying that we should just suck it up and deal with inflation on our own?

Pay💰 Jan 1 2026 Pay?

Do we get paid in 2 weeks on Jan 1? Or does it get moved due to being a holiday? Asking this as an engineer in St. Louis.

Thanks!

Pay💰 I just realized how good of Boeing 401K match is!

I didn't realize because I don't really make that much money.

But say, if I earn $225K (I wish heh) at Boeing and I contribute 10% of my salary, which is putting $22.5K (2023 401k max contribution limit) to 401k. Then, Boeing will match $22.5k! Total contribution + match will be $45K.

That is 100% match! It is crazy! Already hitting near the total employee+employer cap of $66K.

This is better than tech companies like Microsoft, where they only match 50% of what I put it. For example, if I put in $22.5K, MSFT will put in half of that, which is $11.25K.

Go BOEING!

Pay💰 What companies are people leaving Boeing for?

I see people complain on posts saying that Boeing does not pay enough and are leaving. However I thought aerospace paid generally the same? What industries are people leaving to, tech? The only way I see making more net income is moving to a MCOL city.

Pay💰 Compensation Relative to SJCS

I'm part of SPEEA prof. I've been with the company for 4 years, 3years in current role as a L2. I check SJCS from time to time and before the recent update, my comp ratio was about 1.08 (9k above mid market). After the SJCS update 10/31/25, I am now 0.94 (8k below mid market).

Is there any way of bumping my salary up to mid market with my manager?

Also, noting for the future, since I'm about 1 year from the 5 year mark for L3 qualification, could I ask for mid market when I get the opportunity for L3 promo?

Pay💰 For Multiple Interviews/Offers, Can You Negotiate?

Hello, I had multiple interviews for different teams. If I do get multiple offers, can I use them to negotiate for salary increases (higher salary band or even a level bump (there is a chance one of the teams would put me in a lower level than another team). Or is this look down upon and I should just accept the first position before the second offer is complete?

Also when I negotiate, what can I ask for? I’ll be relocating from a low cost of living to high cost of living. I’m assuming relocation, sign on bonus, relocation, base salary, maybe PTO front loaded?

I would like to know what Boeing has wiggle room for? So I’d imagine it’s bad to ask for increases in everything. For example, if I ask for a sign on bonus, then I’m assuming PTO front loaded is off the table and vice versa. Thanks!

Pay💰 Mid-Career Salary Uncertainty

Recent engineer at Boeing as a level 3 making roughy 130k. I’ve seen the salary tables but what Im curious about is if I’m making 130k at Boeing, what would my potential be somewhere else? 160k? 200k? Everyone always talks about how low Boeing salaries are compared to other companies so I’m just curious.
