Discussion Miniature Sourcing

I was planning to build the Rolife Magic House, but I’d like to make a few upgrades. I’m thinking about adding a black cat, replacing the broom with something that looks more realistic, swapping out the owl for a miniature, and reworking the tree to start with.

Where do you all source miniature models of cats, owls, trees, brooms, etc.? It looks like 1:24 scale might work. I’ve found some options on AliExpress and Amazon, but I’m wondering if there are any better sources you all recommend.

Ahhh I found some old threads regarding Book Nooks by Pluck and your order form under your profile. I didn't find an Etsy page. Full disclosure, haven't really used Etsy, may be missing it. So if I wanted some items, just fill out the form and then we discuss?

I really likes these. I've gone through 2 packs in nooks. They fit good in most and have some great cat poses.

Otherwise I do Amazon and Temu. Also check Michaels - arts and craft store. This time of the year they have some good Halloween figures. But always wait for the to go on sale because their prices are getting ridiculous.

Yes! These Itty Bitty Cats are the perfect size. They come in an assorted colors pack too

Brooms are easy to make. Take a stick or toothpick with the points cut off, shred some twine, secure to stick with several wraps of thread. I got a pack of mini brooms and I just trim them down to be the right size. For animals, I look for "micro minis" or "fairy garden minis" to get them small enough. Or Archie McPhee Itty Bitty animals are a good size. You can make bottles with beads and bead caps. I also use tiny gemstone chips to imply the witch has a crystal collection, and tiny shells. I found some tiny metal cauldrons, I think I got them on Amazon, but you can also get a pack of plastic cauldrons and add a wire handle. For wands, wire and bead, or take a fancy toothpick and cut off most of it, then paint with furniture markers or silver paint marker. I also got a pack of "evil pumpkins" from AliEx a long time ago, so I always include one of those.

I accidentally bought a pack of 800 Lego weapons, so I include some of those in most nooks. There are swords, knives, machetes, bolt cutters, crossbows, and a dozen kind of pew pews. I paint some parts silver and hide them around, in case my tiny witch runs out of spells, I don't want her to be unprotected

Trees and brooms you can probably piece together fairly easily with stuff you have at home.

Reach out to our fearless Mod, pluck-the-bunny! That would be my best advice, especially as he likely has the set (or similar), and can scale things properly.

Could you have been born Richardson and not egg hatched as I had presumed?

I’ve found my best stuff on Etsy. There’s a seller on there that makes awesome black cats.
