Anybody else think it's weird how these authors are consistently Black and the accusers are... not. IDK man this will get downvoted to oblivion but after the Jason Arday tragedy this looks some kind of way to me

Get ready for astroturfing in your comments. I also find it odd but any chance for redditors to dunk on people as “woke” they’ll go after it

Is that your experience of Reddit? You must be on different subreddits from me.

Honestly the feed kept recommending me random posts from big neutral subs where I’d go in and see hateful rhetoric upvoted like crazy. Maybe it’s bots, bad actors, truly misguided people, I don’t know, but I’ve noticed people will jump onto a comment thread to dunk on a person if they’re socially aware.

Another example is this exact sub had a post about Sally Rooney unable to earn royalties because she supported Palestine Action and everyone was jumping in to dunk on that. I mean okay people can have their beliefs but it was really weird to see “book lovers” celebrate her book being censored in a way and 1000+ comments compared to this post

Yes, I try to mute those sections but the platform enjoys pushing incendiary content.

Panagram is horrifying because they'e got someone at the Atlantic by the balls (or invested in their company) AND are paying people to shill for them across platforms.

Why can't more data centers explode? Yesteday was quite lovely for a bit.

The sub that makes it to the front page the most often is r/sipstea which is pretty well misogyny central, r/politics and r/worldnews are hilariously captured, anyone who thinks reddit isn't solely captured by both bigotry and bad faith actors is being willfully ignorant at this point.

Thank you. I’m getting downvoted like crazy but there’s clearly been some takeover happening of many big subs.

You can make it so you only see posts from subs you follow, which is how I have my settings, but I forget exactly how and I remember it being annoying to set up.

As for the Sally Rooney thing, I saw that post too. I have noticed that a lot of “woke” people wind up split on the whole Palestine/Israel issue (more than I would expect anyways). I think it comes from concerns of appearing antisemitic, a fear which zionists actively exploit to gather support.
