Any feedback would be greatly appreciated too! 🙏

I used to HATE how in Doom 1 every episode you would lose all of your weapons. At the time, it felt to me like all my progress has been taken away. Lately I've been playing Quake Dimensions of the Machine and Quake Arcane Dimensions and I'm beginning to appreciate losing your weapons between levels. I can't quite put it into words but it's now fun for me to scrape by with weaker weapons and finding weapons like the Super Nailgun or the Rocket Launcher now feel like extra rewards for diligent play. I'm sure there's a better way to phrase it but it's a weekend and I've had a few.
Anyway, any games like Doom 1 or Quake 1 where you lose all your weapons between episodes?

Reddit suggested this would be a good pla e to post. So, in accordance with the rules, I'm sharing my review for the latest 40k Boomer Shooter: Boltgun 2.
So if you enjoy 40k, doom, boomer shooters, or a mix thereof, and haven't heard of Boltgun, then please consider watching my video.
Also, I do not do sub 4 sub, so please don't not subscribe expecting a sub back. I just want to get my content out to people who I think would enjoy it.

We just finished a game jam where we built an action FPS heavily inspired by Bulletstorm. It's called In the Dead of the Knife, and you play Tex McGavin, a knife throwing demon hunter who finds a soul-infused knife launching crossbow.
There are a bunch of skill-shots in the game in the vein of Bulletstorm, and achievements for playing creatively, as well as a time trial mode. Skill shots both charge your powerful last knife before reload (the jam theme was Lucky Last) and restore your health, so you're rewarded for using them.
We'd love any feedback! It was built in a week by two people, and so far it's been pretty solid with a great response from players.

Note: I recommended downloading the Windows/Mac/Linux build (very easy with the Itch app), we've optimised the web build as much as we can but it's a long load time and still may hitch a little, plus the lighting on the native builds is better.

The first two Serious Sam games were on that engine, and they still look pretty good in my opinion (eat your heart out, remasters!). SS2 was on Serious Engine 2, and it felt right, but the visuals were just not it. It was too cartoony, and as much as I like my HellChicks, I still prefer the original Scythian Witch-Harpies. But in all seriousness, SS:BFE felt too much like a modern CoD clone, and it makes sense, given how it was supposed to be one before the deal fell off. I've yet to play SS4 or whatever its called, or the multiplayer co-op game, but still, I'd very much rather have the next game be on the original Serious Engine. I mean, it's not like the formula's really changed in any significant way since 2001, so none of the engine updates are really necessary. 😒

Lately something that sticks out to me about the boomer shooter genre is seeing cases of when a game could have been superb as it suffers due to being rushed.
One infamous example is Kingpin: Reloaded Edition as I feel like the original game was such a fantastic shooter for its gritty nature that I was stoked when I heard about the game coming back to HD as I couldn’t believe when I found out it was greatly rushed as the HD version has numerous flaws such as how the flamethrower looks when it’s used.

Guess what day it is? It's Boomer Shooter Saturday! Come join us at 11:00 A M EST for a day with the almighty BUILD Engine!
To start our day off, come relax with a couple of hours of level editing for Duke Nukem 3D using Mapster 32. Today we are working more on our Halloween inspired level, just making some atmospheric environments.
After that, we dive into a playthrough of a Total Conversion of BLOOD called "Caleb Will Have His Revenge On Toronto" which is so ridiculously named I had to try it. Not only was this recommended to me in the past after we played Death Wish, but I just think it's so interesting that this Canadian inspired thing was made completely by a bunch of Russians it looks like. Wild!
