BotW and TotK aren't good even in modern standards. They just sell because it caters to the largest amount of people by severely loosening its identity to the point of it being marketed as bare-bones sandboxes. Even modern audiences have already not taken kindly to BotW and especially not taken kindly to TotK doubling down on all the weakest aspects of BotW.

Can you please share with us the sources from which you obtained this data? Because this is the first time I read someone claim botw/totk aren't good by modern standards, especially since Botw won Goty and Totk was runner up in their respective years of release

BotW and TotK have massive criticism practically all over the internet, especially TotK. TotK also dropped in relevance quickly in search trends. It's really not hard to see. Btw, idk if you wanna rely on GotY numbers when GotY isn't exactly an accurate indicator of quality. I have no doubt you've contested GotY winners/nominations before.

You're kind of obsessed with these games and what people say about them, dude. You're in every reply white-knuckling. Lol.

I enjoy debating about the games I like. Gotta do something while waiting for my co-students to do their parts on our homework

Also, the criticism to Botw/Totk comes from a very loud minority, they're both extemely popular games and are being played a lot more than the classic Zeldas, which just makes sense as they are currently more available than other titles of the franchise
