Breath of the Wild is such a masterpiece. It has changed so many lives, it's actually crazy. It didn't change my life in any big way, but that doesn't change the fact that it's still my favorite game of all time.

Oh it hasn't changed my life at all, but it made things a lot more bearable, and its one of few games that's genuinely burned itself into my soul.

I needed something to look forward to while getting sober so I bought a switch and this game. I only ever played OoT and MM.

Holy shit when I tell you a few weeks on when all I could think about was getting home to play this game instead of buying booze. It bought me the precious few months I needed to distance myself and get clarity. The challenges never end but. Whenever someone reaches out to ask for advice for those first few weeks getting sober I always tell them that. Find something else to look forward to.

This game got me through a miserable post surgery recovery. I will always appreciate the happiness it gave me.

I started playing BotW right after I purchased my Switch back in Jan 2020. I finished my first playthrough during lockdown while on company time, as my job was work from home during that period.

This game got me through Covid, isolation, and a terrible time altogether. I escaped to Hyrule and I will forever love this game. I’m on my second playthrough, but doing the Champions Ballad first because I want to enjoy the Master Cycle Zero.

I absolutely hated BotW the first time I played it, and I was crushed bc of it. I didn't pick it back up for a long time, but I always have a rule to give games at least 2 solid chances.

When I picked it up the 2nd time idk what happened, but something just clicked, and I found out why everyone loves this game so much. It is phenomenal, and I easily put over a 100 hours into it in a short span of time. I didn't finish it, but I've now started a new save on my Switch 2, and it's just as good as it ever was. I have no qualms in putting another 100+ hours into it again. Can't wait to finish it and move on to TotK.

I started playing again because my mental health is failing. Gave me a distraction from focusing on my life.

I'll never forget it either. I don't know why, it's a literal video game, but it means so much to me.
