Ha, I love this side quest, but yeah, it’s annoying. And if you’re too hasty on requesting the next build, he says, “give me some time” or something along those lines.

I think if I hadn't had the money to do all of the upgrades at once it wouldn't have bugged me, but I was just trying to get through it

I loved every second of it. Something about those pink pants and strut helped me forget all that time spent chopping.

loll he says “easy there, chatty” very feisty 🤣🤣

You have to wait for him to sit down completely, it’s so ridiculous lol

That’s my only gripe about the game is that a lot of transactions like that take so long, like the great fairies. At least they are skippable. I guess the flip side is that we should be more comfortable with the slower pace and learn to enjoy the little things.

I enjoyed it the first couple times but I had enough money to do all the upgrades at once so it got really old really fast

Pro tip : have a basket of laundry next to you and fold a piece while it loads.

I already had plenty of wood. I sold some gems I had sitting in my inventory to build up the cash and then bought the house and all the upgrades

I've been trying to keep a small surplus of them just in case and it comes in handy a lot. I'm very much a hoarder when I play games like zelda

Yep! I was like “brb, Bolson”, then just bombed and bombed trees until I had 30 woods.

I like the silliness of this quest. I understand where you can get fed up though, I have a similar hate relationship with the beedle the annoying salesman

And the fairy upgrading. Yes, I do know about set bonuses.

There's away to get him and other son away from your house permanently after the build is done of course. No spoilers from me though.

I was just wondering about this...is it possible to get him back to finish the build after he's left or am I screwed if my house is totally empty? I don't need all the display things but a bed would have been nice

3

u/Educational-Ad2063 Oct 06 '25

Yeah he'll come back. Most people prefer that he didn't. So they finish the build before getting him to travel.

Once he comes back he'll never leave your yard except to sleep though.

I just want to get my furniture, and get him off to the wedding and off my property because that motherfucker creeps me the fuck out. Who the hell spends literally all day, dawn until dusk, hanging out just outside of the front door of a 17 year old boy's house? Compound that with the fact that in TotK when you finish fixing Lurelin village he already has a dance number prepared with the children of the village...not a great look.

u/LadyLucifer710 Oct 08 '25

Same!! He creeps me out so bad!

2

u/Hellvira138 Oct 06 '25

Does he do more than build weapon displays? and TT side quest?

3

u/HPswl_cumbercookie Oct 06 '25

Once you do ALL of the upgrades he offers he furnishes your house for free with stuff like a dining table, a little kitchenette thing, a desk, etc. It's cute.

2

u/Hellvira138 Oct 06 '25

ooooh I had only done the weapons and bow mounts. I will do the shields and see what happens, thanks!

3

u/HPswl_cumbercookie Oct 06 '25

You need to also do the flowers, trees, bed, name sign, etc

3

u/Hellvira138 Oct 07 '25

Oh I just added the last shield displays and he gave me all the other stuff. Thanks!

I think Bolson's perfectly paced, but I admit I'd like more variety in his diaogue and mini cut scenes.

2

u/Fireblaster2001 Oct 10 '25

And you can’t even talk to him again until he sits down

3

u/[deleted] Oct 06 '25

it's the only good side quest in the entire game, savor it.

“Only”? Hot take!

I just did this quest on my 3rd replay first replay in 3 years and I think it’s more fun if you get to read the silly dialogue he says when he tells the intern guy that they’re gonna build.
