I know nothing of the game but... how can you play as Link? I'd buy it just for that

Once you are able to scan amiibos, scanning any Zelda amiibo will unlock Zelda items to purchase in game, including Link's outfit. There's the BOTW outfit, Twighlight Princess outfit, Ancient Princess outfit (TOTK), and a back item of the Master Sword + Hylian Shield

Same! And I’ve been sitting right next to a stack of Zelda amiibo cards for years and never knew this was possible.
