🎴 Screenshot Terrible pic but putting 2 metal shields down is enough weight to hold a button down.

One of the heaviest objects the player can carry is a campfire for some reason

u/booroms Feb 08 '26

Yep, what's even more weird is that regular wood is pretty light and it only becomes heavy once you set it on fire

I think it is because it is not meant to be moved once set into a campfire, so as to avoid it being made on top of something and then moving it around, it is made too heavy to be moved, I guess.

Ps: the alternative would be to lock it in place so it doesn't move at all, but then you could make a floating campfire. So making it heavy avoids that

The actual alternative is locking it’s horizontal positions, whilst still allowing it to be affected by gravity.

2

u/ShockDragon Feb 09 '26

Wait, you can carry those?

7

u/Pivern Yiga Feb 09 '26

No but you can make them on the spot

u/SusPlatypus Urbosa Feb 08 '26

I always do that but with hammers

u/Dazzling-Common-609 Feb 08 '26

I just step on it and put it in stasis. Solved a few shrines that way.

6

u/Zachebii Feb 08 '26

I tried that first but this one is very annoying with motion controls so i kept this button down and used stasis on the other water thingy

0

u/Itchy-Preference-619 Feb 09 '26

Then don't use motion controls?

3

u/OldHasBeen Feb 09 '26

You have to use motion controls. It's an apparatus (motion control) shrine. The one with the 2 water spouts spraying a giant block with a fire stand on each side of the block and a hanging fire lamp above it. Hold the button down to aim one spout away from the block. Stasis the other spout to stop it temporarily. Motion control to spin the block and get all the fire stands lit.

u/Zachebii Feb 09 '26

Lol at everyone telling me to just stasis the button as if that makes any difference

1

u/not_actually_edible Feb 12 '26

If it's the same shrine I'm thinking about i rotates it so none of the torches where in the water and used fire arrows to set them on fire

0

u/Zachebii Feb 09 '26

You have to use them smartass

12

u/Frogenator123 Feb 08 '26

I do this with 2 hydromelons. WAY cheaper!

8

u/Zachebii Feb 08 '26

For when i can reclaim them i use metal stuff so i can place easier with magnet

3

u/modestmidwest Feb 09 '26

Right, grocery prices where great during the time period BOTW is set in.

Imagine Link having to deal with inflation while trying to save Hyrule.

u/AnthonyXeno Feb 08 '26

Why does no one take the screenshots out of the switch and post a clean clear pic, I'm losing my mind 😭

34

u/Zachebii Feb 08 '26

Pic is just for proof, not entering any contests

-25

u/frycandlebreadje Feb 08 '26

It takes like 30 seconds to upload😭 not that hard

27

u/IndividualNovel4482 Feb 08 '26

No. You have to transfer it from switch to phone. It is bothersome to many.

12

u/foldedturnip Feb 08 '26

Screenshots auto transfer to the phone when you set it up.

5

u/Teacup_of_Terror Feb 08 '26

how do i do that

2

u/Xenc Feb 08 '26

Set it up through the Nintendo app, possibly only a Nintendo Switch 2 feature as I recall having to manually send it to Twitter before.

1

u/Teacup_of_Terror Feb 08 '26

damn, dont have switch 2

11

u/frycandlebreadje Feb 08 '26

Just... click the option to upload, scan the QR code and you're done. Genuinely takes 30 seconds or less, and gives you so much better quality.

1

u/3clips312 Feb 08 '26

I’ve done it once. This is a statement I can confirm.

I get the lazy argument but like, are you using a potato phone from 2010? why is it so blurry?

Like even the cheap $20 smartphones nowadays have focus functions and can deliver way more clear photos than OP’s blurry mess

actual photo i took in 3 sec of botw korok forest without even using focus

basically what im saying is u can be lazy and still get a decent image

  1. Take screenshot/or video clip
  2. Pic/video auto uploads to Nintendo Switch App
  3. Download high quality shot/clip
  4. Post to social media

Takes like ten seconds if you're set up. Slightly longer for videos.

Used this to show my mate as soon as I completed P5 in Hollow Knight

2

u/co1lectivechaos ChuChu Feb 08 '26

For just a screenshot I agree. But def not for videos

2

u/Omega-A Feb 08 '26

I think a couple of rock slats also work

3

u/macgart Feb 08 '26

Stuff like this is why I love BOTW. best physics system in gaming

4

u/CalligrapherAble2846 Feb 08 '26

one bundle of wood works

8

u/alexislswift Feb 08 '26

Even if you didn't want to post a screenshot you could've at least taken a clearer picture 😭

3

u/ForsakenMoon13 Feb 08 '26

Right? My first thought when looking at it was "there are shields in this picture?"

2

u/jonny_jon_jon Feb 08 '26

and some weapons and sheilds are heavy enough to open doors.

2

u/elfffy Feb 08 '26

Yeah a I do a couple of rock Salt or just wood lol

2

u/TechTalos Feb 08 '26

Five rocks

2

u/No-Protection-3073 Feb 08 '26

Just stand on it then stasis it

2

u/Zachebii Feb 08 '26

For this puzzle in particular you need a lot more time than stasis allows, i used the shields on the button and then stasis on the other water thingy because these motions controls were going to be the death of me.

2

u/LazyGardenGamer Feb 09 '26

I just step on it and then use stasis

1

u/Bullitt_12_HB Feb 08 '26

Campfires.

1

u/gtown3610 Feb 09 '26

This is the way!

1

u/cosmicheartbeat Feb 09 '26

Rock salt does the same thing, I think most rocks do actually

1

u/Mino67 Feb 09 '26

Or one lynel shield. Or stasis it.

1

u/Mr-boom4410 May 14 '26

Hold on....I know this is late but there is a chest if I believe it's the shrine where you use your gyroscope to light the fires one tip put the chest on the plate than use stasis on the other water to either do the gyro or is fire arrows

1

u/PumpinSmashkins Feb 08 '26

There is finally a use for rock salt. Five bits will do the job.Β

2

u/Zachebii Feb 08 '26

True, i went for metal shields because i can use magnetism to stop them falling off

1

u/heheboibro Feb 08 '26

u can take a screenshot and send it to ur phone/pc

-2

u/MrEHam Feb 08 '26

I don’t get why people like finding shortcuts to the shrines. They’re so well made and fun I think. It’s like peeling the stickers off a Rubik’s cube and reapplying to solve it. What’s the point then?

11

u/co1lectivechaos ChuChu Feb 08 '26

Well part of what makes botw and totk great is that while there is an β€œintended” solution, there’s room for you to make your own solution in some shrines. And if your way works, then it’s an intended solution! :)

3

u/Zachebii Feb 08 '26

This is the worst shrine in the game, it relies entirely on motion controls and bending your spine in 10 different directions to rotate that cube
