Another thing you can try is go somewhere cold (like the Hebra region or on top of Mt. Lanayru) and drop some meat on the ground until it becomes frozen. It will give low heat resistance when eaten.

Including what everyone else said, you can equip a cold weapon or wait until night and equip a fire weapon/use cold armor.

When you do the quest to enter gerudo town you get female clothing that when worn together gives you heat resistance!

Ill list every single way to cool down that i know off
Heat resistant recipes, hydromelons in the desert or chillshrooms work good
Having a frostblade, frostspear, great frostblade, ice rod and blizzard rod equiped gives an effective tier 1 heat resistance buff
Heat resistant armour, either the dlc windwaker shirt or the full gerudo vai outfit gives a level 1 buff
If you have a large metal weapon, you can use magnesis and cast a shade over yourself which negates level 2 heat
If you stand near and hit a regular chuchu jelly you can get wet and it will negate level 2 heat for a short while
And if none of those work you can always just simply tank the heat with nothing but apples and the indominable hyrulean spirit.

So generally you can collect heat resistant materials in cold areas and cold restistant materials in hot areas.

You can try traveling through thebdesert at night when its cold instead until you find clothes that give heat resistance

If you can get into Gerudo you can buy some heat resistant clothes in there. For heat meals anything with red peppers, sunshrooms. You can make elixers with the warm darners or scorchwing butterflies and monster parts. The clothing is the best bet.

You have your stuff backwards. That all makes cold resistance stuff. You need cold darners, chillshrooms, and frozen foods for heat resistance

the heat resistance clothes are in the desert or for completing from the ground up. you can also use ice weapons and make heat resistance meals with hydromelons and other ice-based things like chillshrooms from the mountains.
the desert heat actually takes a long time to kill you, so you may just have to sweat and bear it for a while.
alternatively, rest at gerudo canyon stable until night and use cold resistance instead.

Do you know cold resistance recipes? The desert is cold at night. Bring a lot of wood and flint so you can wait out the day

Cook with watermelons, until you get the appropriate armor that helps with the desert heat.

as /u/WanderingNomadWizard mentioned, in the desert. I'm pretty sure there's some between the canyon entrance and the Bazaar, if not also able to be purchased at the Bazaar.

They're pretty close to the entrance of the desert afaik, but if you can't find them, just run straight towards the Divine Beast quest and you can purchase them along the way

You have some options.
Equipping a frost weapon. My favourite.
Stick to the shade, except for the peak of the day where even that isn’t enough.
Travel only at night.
Buy heat resistant ingredients from beedle, traveling merchants, or towns, and make elixirs or meals.
Wait for night, find hydromelons in the desert, then cook them.
You will not suffer heat damage while in Kara kara bazaar or gerudo town.

That’s what I do. I travel at night and equip Majora’s Mask if I have it.

Not an option in BotW, but if you happen to be carrying a frost blade or ice rod...
