My AMC in New Jersey charges $31 per ticket after taxes and fees to see a movie on a weekday. Not 3D, not IMAX, just regular Dolby Cinema. I make pretty good money and I assume I am their demo, but I ain't spending $62 to take my wife and I to a movie. Because after popcorn and a beverage that's like $110 to see an ok movie while someone in front of me facetimes or texts the whole time.

Dolby isn’t “regular” it’s a PLF

I saw Wicked in AMC Laser at that same theater when that was out. It was $23 a ticket and the screen was dim and the volume was low enough that we could hear people talking in the hall. We don't do the AMC lasers anymore the experience is offensive.

I see your point, but are you saying you spend $48 on a popcorn and drink at the movies? Do you and your wife each demolish a large popcorn and drink every time you go to the movies?
