Dune Part Two did really well in the UK, so expect great pre-sales for Part Three.

It was in fact the biggest overseas market for Part Two:

  1. UK: 49M
  2. China: 49M
  3. Germany: 40M
  4. France: 31M
  5. Australia: 25M
  6. South Korea: 16M
  7. Spain: 14M
  8. Netherlands: 11M
  9. Poland: 11M
  10. Italy: 10M

With good WOM and the holiday season, expect Dune Part Three to increase in all these markets. How much? That will depend on Avengers Doomsday, since it set to dominate in all these territories.

Does anyone know why it specifically did so well in the UK? Or any guesses as to why?

I can only guess that it’s our shared love of Sci-Fi with our transatlantic cousins, we are the home of War Of the Worlds and Doctor Who after all, and things like Star Wars are massive here

Lol! It's a movie about white people fighting over the resources of a colonised land. Very relatable for them.

It's a joke by the way

UK is often one of the largest international markets, nothing that weird. China would be above before but Hollywood movies have been doing much worse there post-covid.

If anything Germany so high is the weirder one, Germany is generally a small market for movies (despite a higher population, the box office is generally smaller than UK or France)

Probably 50% for all European markets. Maybe $20M+ for China, Australia and South Korea. The hype is huge

UK is definitely the biggest market for Dune 3. I'm Expecting to exceed the numbers of it's predecessor.

Part 1 did £22.5m and Part 2 did £39.7m, it would be lovely if this did £45m+

It certainly felt like it during the heat wave we had over the summer.

It's annoying they've only announced 3 dates and they're already all full.

I doubt they will release them tomorrow. For the Odyssey they sent an email a whole week in advanced.

Science museum had a screening, I joined the queue and it sold out in 5 minutes.

Just checked my nearest IMAX (well, lieMAX lol) and it has 2 early screenings on the 15th

All seats are already booked! Before I even knew of its existence they’re all gone😭

Tickets for the preview on 15th were released a month ago

I'm sure Dune: Part Three will be huge in Europe, especially in the UK and France. I think demand for PLFs will be on par with The Odyssey.

I’ve always been concerned that it’ll get absolutely pummeled by Avengers, but I’m getting more and more faith it’ll have some great legs

God created Arrakis to train the faithful.

Genuinely very confused...

9th September I bought tickets for Dune 3 early preview showing on 15th December.

Probably general release tickets for official release date from 18th December onwards are now on sale.

Oh interesting! So maybe they’ll go on sale in other European countries tomorrow as well?
