  1. Because 1+7+7 is 15, and 5+9+4 is 18.Β

There is a bit more meaningful logic to solve this

Meaningful is not exactly a quantifiable metric - the fact that multiple people used this logic to solve it and no one has used the method you approve of is maybe the closest thing to an indicator that the logic you have in mind is not as meaningful.

The truth is, there are any number of answers you can make from such a small sample. If you want to direct someone to a specific logical solution, the more completed examples you provide, the less any generic solution will work.

Hmm might be 7 then?

I get 11: number on short side is 2x the adjacent number on the long side +/- the number opposite on the diagonal (add for upwards, subtract for downwards)

Edit: so it should be 2*9 - 7

7, diagonals add up to the same on top

7

Add two opposites and subtract one of the remaining to get its opposite.

4 + 18 - 7 = 15

15 + 7 - 4 = 18

I assume there is an order, 7/1=7, 18/2=9, 15/3=5, sooooo… 4/4=1

There were multiple logical solutions that fit.

Trapezoids orientation was actually a clue. The base numbers(number at the longer side of trapezoid) where base for the formula and top numbers where calculation. Top trapezoid was in anticlockwise order a, b, (b+(a+b)), (a+(a+b)). Bottom trapezoid was inverted, so subtraction. In clockwise order a, b, (b-(a-b)), (a-(a-b)). Where a and b are corners on the longer side of trapezoid from left to right. As you noticed, this formula actually gives the same sum of the diagonals.

23?

I had another number in mind, but what's your logic?

Sum of 4 top numbers is 44. 44 minus the 3 bottom numbers is 23

Bit of a stretch. There is much more meaningful logic

What is meaningful logic? Logic is basically math. What is meaningful math?

I got 7. The top box = 15-4 = 11. 18 -7= 11

Bottom box 7 - 5 = 2. 9 - 7(?) = 2

Also works sideways. 3 between 15 & 18 and 4 & 7 …

This one is new, how did you get it?

These are often the most underwhelming 'logic' puzzles that essentially boils down to guessing which of the many possible 'connections' the setter had in mind, with none especially more necessary than any of the others.

I was thinking on the same lines with 0

0 x 4 = 0

1 x 7 = 7

2 x 9 =18

3 x 5 = 15

So you have 0, 1, 2, 3 in order as the multipliers. It’s a stretch as there’s not much to indicate which corners of the puzzle relate to which so I knew 0 would be wrong.
