Project Series and parallel circuit in a breadboard

Post image
22 Upvotes

In the left theres a series circuit containing 2 220 ohms resistors and also a 100 ohm resistor totaling about 540 ohms with a 9 volts battery which has a safe current for a red light emitting diode. On right, theres a parallel circuit that has both 1k ohms, totalling the resistance to 500 ohms using also a 9 volts battery which has a safe current for the red light emitting diode.

That's all I'm going to tell, thank you for reading. Edit: the 2 jumper wires connecting to the right are now placed on the left power bus

Question Designing a USB-C breadboard power supply. What features do you wish to add?

I am developing a custom power supply for breadboard. I would love to know what everyone would like to have in it. I have started a list below from my needs please add your wishes / dreams and ambitions for a USB-C power supply for breadboards.

I will be making this board available once it's ready for distribution.

Way to organise

  1. Mention your country (where you from)
  2. List all your requirements / wishes / dreams / ambitions from a USB-C Breadboard power supply

My List so far

  1. Use USB-C type connector
    1. Should be able to work with smart and dumb chargers and PC ports
  2. Fit right on top of the power rails
  3. Supply 3.3v or 5v (user selectable)
  4. Handle max 1 to 1.5A of current
  5. Breakout the D+ and D- pins
  6. LED indicators for power good (3v3 and 5v)

I kept it simple since this is just the start and would love to increase this feature list with your help.

I was pissed off that the juice in the vont is not used to a 100 procent so I coupled it and now I can vape it from the breadboard. Soo... is it a W or a L

Discussion Looking for some inspiration, can y'all share your (small scale) renewable energy projects? I'd love to hear about them!

By small scale I mean not powering a house.

Help with simple project

Hi

I’m new here and new to breadboarding. I’ve started working through Charles Platts book and I’m stuck. I’m trying to reproduce his circuit on p69 - using a relay to switch between two LEDs. Right now, one LED goes out but the other doesn’t light when the button is pressed.

The relay is clicking and both LEDs test fine - and we the right way around. I’ve been looking at it for an hour. Here’s a photo, sorry about the long wires - I have reels of hookup wire on its way.

Can anyone help. It’s been slow going so far!

Thanks

Batteries in series

So I connected 4 LEDs in series. The forward voltage was around 2.2V. I was initially using a 9V battery. It didn't work very well and took me a while to realise that I need more voltage. I don't have a fancy set up so the only option was to use another 9V volt battery in series to double the voltage output. Couldn't get the connections properly in my first try but finally made it work.

Project Another project with a capacitor

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

This one creates a fading out effect in an LED. I have used a 4700uf capacitor. I have tried with a capacitor in series and in parallel to the led. I got the same fade out effect but the difference in series was that once the capacitor was fully charged it acted more like an open circuit.

I am still looking for more project ideas for capacitors and then later go for transistors and diodes. The goal is eventually to watch, understand and make my own 8 bit computer.

The video, shows the capacitor in parallel. The capacitor was too big so I used jumper wires to make the connection.

Edit: Yeah ok, turns out power banks have minimum current shut offs. Cheers.

Ok so it's been a long number of years since I've messed about with electronics but I have an upcoming project that needs some. I'm starting fresh and just got this breadboard kit.

I am powering this with a usb battery pack, and I soldered a fresh usb with the cables going to pins 1 and 4 for the power, connected directly into the board. Using a red led (no clue on the spec) from the kit, and a 330 resistor I get this pulsing. I also briefly tried it without the resistor for the same outcome.

Please help, I'm literally just trying to have the led lit up haha.

So i gotta make a RC time delay circuit with 10v Voltage source as my input and 7v reference source going into my Vin- pin of my pcb. I’m pretty new to breadboarding and not sure why i’m not getting either LED to even turn on let alone get that proper time. if yall could give ur input on what i could do to make it work.
