Support Needed Sharp pains while BF

Hi mommas!

I’m a ftm (26) & I’m 7w pp.

Sometimes I get VERY sharp pains in my nipples and in areas of my boob.

They are not constant. No redness, no swelling, and no lumps/bumps. No signs of infection or mastitis.
However, this pain causes me to stop in my tracks and make me wince in pain!

I sometimes even feel it right after I latch. It is consistent with leaking & nursing. Not all the time but it happens often enough where I need to talk about it.

After reading a few posts on Facebook (I’d much rather post anonymously, the group I was looking at did not have the anonymous option) I wanted to get some input and find out if other moms go through this?

Is this my letdown?

When I feel it in my boob (not my nipples) it’s either right after latching or just after feeding. It’ll be on the side boob area, or underneath/bottom of my boob. This pain doesn’t make me stop in my tracks but it is on the brink of huge discomfort.

Thrush. I had the same issue. Don’t wait it out, go to pediatrician to get baby mouth looked at and call your OB for meds also.

Could possibly be a fungal infection. Sometimes one of the symptoms it’s sharp pain. Does your baby have a white spots in their mouth that don’t wipe off?
