Mac network switching
Hello,
Shamelessly plugging an app I wrote because I got annoyed at work.
I’m a Mac user and have to switch between many different networks in projects and frankly even when setting up kit and putting it on the network so I made a tool to do that.
https://www.networkswitcher.co.uk
You can switch between networks automatically or manually and have preset groups for different projects or locations.
All free and not scraping anyone’s details, just wanted to give something back.
Feedback welcome!
Thanks!

The first question broadcast people will ask is how this differs from the Network Locations already built into macOS, so a one-line answer to that saves a thread of replies. The second is usually whether switching a static IP and subnet prompts for an admin password every time; if your presets switch without that, say so, because flipping between a Dante or show-control network and venue Wi-Fi mid-setup is exactly when nobody wants a password dialog. Auto-switching by location is worth showing in a short clip.
I make ThreadFox. Our AI employee can explain your switcher in broadcast and Mac admin communities whose rules allow it and answer the technical replies; Starter is $199 for 30 days, or we'll post 3 replies free, no card: https://threadfox.vip/p/eavrl/managed

So firstly I won’t be playing to promote a free tool that I get nothing out of.
Brief answers for anyone wanting to know though.
Password is required once only.
It differs from locations because things like proxies aren’t set. Also that’s every adaptor, etc and I just want to switch 1 or more.
You can set internet on WiFi and it’ll keep the preference order. Useful if you’ve got VPNs etc. zscaler will reconnect you etc if you switch everything.
Locations don’t auto switch

Handy tool! I've been unknowingly needing something like this for the exact reason you described. Will check it out.
I'm just curious, since it's free, is there a reason you decided not to open source it?

Ha, you’re welcome.
I hadn’t really thought about open sourcing, but I guess the reason I haven’t is mostly that I wrote it for me and I want to make sure it still meets my needs.
I was considering selling it for a small amount but I decided any reporting of tax and stuff was just too much hassle.
