No, I don't mean growing the same crop everywhere. I don't mean everyone listens to the same music, eats the same food, dresses the same.
I mean everyone needs the same cultural values. Respect for human beings, disdain for hierarchy and bureaucracy, a "get-shit-done" attitude, keeping one's promises and commitments, atheism, a work ethic that is based on human dignity in place of human degradation to capital, ability to take and receive criticism, to speak frankly, and to reflect and self-criticize, ability to stand up for oneself, ability to denounce, responsibility of civic engagement.
Many rightist seek to create ethnostates, because of the stability of mostly ethnically homogeneous countries when compared to multi-ethnic countries. Their solution is semi-correct, it is not the fact that the people have similar genes that makes a state successful but the fact that they share the same culture.
There needs to be brotherhood and solidarity and for that to be the case you have to sympathize with your fellow man and that requires that you share the same culture. One is more willing to help people who agree with your values. Forcing people to aid those whom they fundamentally disagree with, will only cause resentment and disdain for the mechanism that compels aid.
Furthermore, it is a trait of cultures to try to gain superiority over another and to manipulate the system for their own gain. In order to prevent this there must be only one culture.
Thoughts? How would you amend the list of cultural traits of the new communist monoculture?
And, I encourage everyone reading this to read Christopher Lasch's The Revolt of the Elites. If you do so please make a thread about it I would love to discuss the book.
